Rules of Engagement:

    0. Aka the Prime Directive. Don’t drive recklessly! Please be considerate to your fellow racers. If you wouldn’t do it in real life with your race car, don’t do it here! Just like you would try to avoid contact in real life at all costs, we expect you to drive the same way here.
    1. No bumping or side swiping cars out of the way. The people you are racing with aren’t AI bots and won’t just move over for you. The onus will be on the passer to make a clean pass. That involves being patient and finding the right opportunity to make a pass. That also means you may have to take a sub optimal line to make the pass. Make a clean pass, be predictable.
    2. No blocking allowed, you are allowed one move to defend your position, it doesn’t mean you can move in front of the person making the pass at the last moment. If you are defending make sure you move to defend is done well in advance of the car approaching.
    3. Just because you happen to be faster than someone else in a certain section doesn’t mean they have to move over for you. It also doesn’t mean you can force the issue and push them out of the way to pass. If you haven’t developed the racecraft to follow your competition closely without hitting them, perhaps it is best to give them a little extra space.
    4. It is understandable some amount of contact will eventually happen as people push, after all this is wheel to wheel racing. Please use common courtesy to apologize to your competitor and give the position back if you happen to push them out of the way and gain a position. You can try again at a later point in the race.
    5. Penalties will be assigned based upon protests between parties directly involved in an incident. Everyone is volunteering their time to do this. We would rather be picking cars than making judgements on crash videos. The Race coordinators will review the incident and then assess the following penalties:
      1. A small push may involve a position swap if you gain a position.
      2. If you bump someone and they go off track, it may incur a 5 second penalty.
      3. If you hit someone during a race and it causes the person you were passing to spin, it’s a 20 second penalty to the offender.
      4. If you hit someone during a race and it causes enough damage to the victim needing him/her to pit, it’s a 60 second penalty to the offender.
      5. Unsportsman like conduct and intentional ramming of an opponent will be given a DQ and points for that race will be 0.
      6. Repeat offenders may be asked to sit out a race after 2 or more egregious incidents.
    6. Since each race is 30 mins long and there are possibilities of plenty of incidents, whomever gets hit/spun/wrecked please contact the designated person in charge of Protests. The Race coordinators will determine the party at fault and make the adjustments to points and positions.
    7. Constant yelling and complaining about your fellow racers will not be tolerated.

Please understand everyone racing in this league are people you race with in real life. Everyone racing is an amateur racer and are doing this to have a good time. Some have National championships, some don’t. If you can, when attempting a pass, please try to call out your passes to give the person in front a heads up. That way they can be a little more predictable as you go for the pass. Please be respectful to everyone.
    Race clean, have fun!

    RESTARTS:

Do we do restarts? Yes, under certain circumstances we will do restarts.
We will restart the race, if someone misses the race due to a technical issue under the following circumstances:

    1. If a driver gets dropped from the race due to a technical issue as the race starts.
    2. If a driver tries to connect during qualifying but is unable to connect after qualifying has started. The race will be restarted and the driver will go to the back of the grid.
    3. A bug that causes false starts and penalties at the beginning of the Race through no fault of the driver will lead to a restart.

Restarts will involve going directly into the race and doing a manual rolling start. Every driver will be required to remember their grid spot. A parade lap will be done so that everyone can shuffle single file to the grid position they qualified in. People who didn’t qualify will go to the back of the grid. We will then do a rolling start and start the race after the final corner before start finish.
