What is Sim Racing?
It is a game that accurately simulates auto racing with real-world variables such as fuel usage, tire wear, and damage. Many games will allow tuning that will represent realistic tuning of suspension.
What is RMSolo Sim Racing?
It is a good group of competitors that meet weekly to virtually race during the winter season. We work to develop our racecraft in a friendly atmosphere. We are welcoming of new racers to the sim racing environment, and try our best to help. This type of racing usually comes with a steep learning curve, but we do our best to make it less daunting.
What are the games?
We are currently running leagues in Project Cars 2 and iRacing.
- Project Cars 2: This is a traditional game purchase with the possibility of buying additional car packs and tracks. It is the main sim we use for our season racing and for keeping track of points.
- iRacing: This is a subscription-based game where you purchase for a length of time. Additional cars and tracks can also be purchased, although we will attempt to race included cars on included tracks. We use this sim to set-up fun races with free content that comes with the iRacing membership.
What kind of gear do you need?
- PC (See below for system requirements)
- Wheel and pedals (various manufacturers including Thrustmaster, Fanatec, and Logitech)
- Headset for communications
