PC Recommendations

Please follow the minimum recommendations listed on the sites below:

If you are running on a single monitor, we recommend at least a 3rd Gen Intel i5 or higher processor, 8gigs of Ram and a GTX 970, GTX 1060 3GB or RX 580 video card.

If you are running on triple monitors, we recommend upgrading the video card to a GTX 1060 6GB, GTX 1070 or Vega 56 video card.

If you are planning on using Virtual Reality, we recommend using an Intel i7, Ryzen 5 or higher processor, 16 Gigs of Ram and a GTX 1070ti, Vega 64 or higher video card.

Steering Wheel Recommendations

The use of a good steering wheel with force feedback and good pedals is strongly recommended as it helps with the realism and immersion. There are plenty of decent brands to choose from, and you are free to mix and match between different manufacturers. We recommend the follow brands/models:

Entry Level Setup:

  • Logitech G29 or G290 wheel, pedals (optional Logitech shifter)
  • Thrustmaster TMX wheel with Thrustmaster T3PA pedals (optional Thrustmaster TH8A shifter)

Mid Level Setup:

  • Thrustmaster TX or T300 wheel base with Thrustmaster steering wheels, T3PA or T3PA Pro pedals and Thrustmaster TH8A shifter
  • Fanatec CSL wheel base with a Fanatec steering wheel, Fanatec pedals with load cell brake added and Fanatec H pattern shifter

High Level Setup:

  • Thrustmaster TS-PC or TSX-W wheel base with Thrustmaster steering wheels, T-LCM load cell pedals and Thrustmaster TH8A shifter
  • Fanatec Clubsport wheel base with Fanatec steering wheel, Fanatec Clubsport pedals and Fanatec H pattern shifter
  • Any direct drive wheel with hydraulic pedal combo (at this point, the sky is the limit)

Monitors and VR Recommendations

We recommend using triple monitors over using single monitors as it gives you the view out of the side of the car and the ability to use your side view mirrors during the race. If you are limited to using a single monitor due to space issues or budget, please go for the biggest one you can get or an ultrawide monitor that will give you a wider horizontal view.

We recommend using Virtual Reality (VR) over using monitors. The only issue with VR is that a certain percentage of people will get motion sickness. If you do not have issues with motion sickness, VR has become much more affordable recently. While there are plenty of brands out there, we recommend sticking to the following brands for VR headsets:

Entry Level:

  • Oculus Rift or HTC Vive
  • Any Windows MR Headset, eg: Samsung Odyssey plus, Acer, Dell, HP

High-end:

  • HTC Vive Pro
  • Valve Index (120fps)
  • HP Reverb (2k per eye)

Communication Options:

We recommend using a headset with a built-in mic while sim racing with us. The use of a headset and mic will avoid echoing that can happen when using a speaker with a separate microphone. If you are using a VR headset, it comes with a microphone and headphones built-in.

Wheel Stand and Simrig Recommendations:

While you can clamp or bolt your sim rig to a table, it’s a lot of immersion if you are seated in a position that emulates real life. If you are on a budget, we recommend getting a wheelstand. This setup gives you the ability to connect a wheelbase and pedals to a stand. Wheelstand Pro, GT Omega and Next Level Racing all make wheelstands. If looking at a sim rig, ObuttoGT Omega and Next Level Racing all make very good sim rigs. Some people even build their sim rigs using PVC piping and 20/80 tubing.
