Just curious if a sound log will be posted for last weekend's auto-x. I want to make sure my car is below the limit before I sign up for the World Arena events.

Yes, the sound log should be posted soon. I took a quick glance at it before sending it off to be posted and there were quite a few cars over the 93dB limit. Everyone should take a look at their levels before heading to World Arena. Even if you are close to the limit, go prepared with some fixes. Wind may have elevated some of Saturday's reading ... others can comment on that and advise interpretation.

Is there a sound log for the last event?

Maybe you could post the log here or just let me know where I was at.

Bob,
Due to compications with my work schedule, I wasn't able to post sound logs right after the event. They should be posted on the results page by end of day Thursday the 18th.

Sound logs are now posted, for what they are worth. I say that because some very quite cars are listed at 100 dB or more. I wonder if some settings were wrong on the meter, or the wind was blowing directly into the mic, or the wind was blowing the sound towards the mic, or something else. For instance, it appears that every car in the third heat except one was illegal, and my kart read at least 10 dB higher than the last event.

Yah, I somehow managed to gain over 20db since the first event, and I haven't made any modifications in that ~month. I'd say those readings are not accurate.

Take those readings with a grain of salt. They are dubious at best with the wind and meter placement that day. I would only be worried about running at WA if all four of your measurments were over the limit or you know your car is too loud regardless of these readings.

At the last event my car was almost legal for WA. At the previous event I had readings as high as 100 dB.
