Greg, how will this work with the Club Racing June 10/11 event, which will now be using the entire HPT course?

It will be pretty crowded with 2 things going on, won't it?

(paddocking, grid, etc)

(P.S. : Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on these events)

Any info on the questions above, Greg?

And another question ... will there be a T&T on Friday 6/9?

Sorry Paul. I don't get over here as often as I should.

To try to answer your questions.

There will always be something else going on at HPT for us to be able to have an event there. The only exception is Nationals. HPT is a very pricey site, $2000 a day for just the Solo Pad, and that comes with no extras. That also only buys us 10hrs. If we want more than an 8am-6pm, that costs more. So that means every day costs more, because we need the site to open before 8am, more like 6am. Think of it as a high priced restraunt where everything is al a carte. And the only way you can afford to eat there is when another large gathering is willing to split the costs with you.

The club racing event won't be using any of our site, and we won't be using any of theirs. There's plenty to go around. We will be paddocking on the 1000x1000 solo pad. So our paddock/grid/course will all be on the same pad. Completely self contained. There is plenty of space...so don't worry.

No there won't be any test n tune on friday. Actually, unless something changes, you won't even see the site on Friday(that's another $2grand). The actual hours haven't completely been ironed out yet. But should be within the next week. HPT just had their big NHRA race this weekend, so they've been out of touch. But we hope to resume communications this week to get some final details ironed out, and how much that will cost us, to get on the site as early as financially possible.

There will be other site restrictions too. Things like no camping on site(RVs or Tents) No leaving trailers and cars on site overnight Sat. Then there are all the other restrictions, like no jacking anywhere on the new surface, no fueling, no metal to surface contact of any kind. We'll probably be supplying plywood type material for everyone. Not to scare you off, but I'm just letting you all know that there are many more hoops to jump through at this site. But return on our investment is huge! The opportunity to play on this site is a priviledge! And we will do what ever they ask of us. No matter how rediculous they may sound.

Not to change the subject...but there will be a T&T on the Friday before our Aug Divisional. We are renting the site for 3 days for that event. There will be an entry cap, and registration should open in the next week or so. Just FYI...I will be posting the info as soon as its released. Stay tuned.

Thanks, Greg!
That's much more information than I previously knew, and it is much appreciated.
Looks like I might even be able to sleep in before heading out on Friday!
(or maybe go in to work for a while ..... nah!)

good luck to the CO autocrossers driving out to participate.

We debated doing this event, but I will be at Gateway in St Louis with the mini Challenge event instead. Look for me on your way home on Sunday.

Good luck and report back on the surface.

Ditto here, but I'm off to Mid America Motorplex this weekend for three days of track time. I'll be instructing at the Iowa Chapter BMW CCA driving school.

Here's hoping it isn't too miserably hot and humid :D
