If you wish to run a 3-Driver car, you must comply with the RMSolo Supplemental Rule "Number of Drivers Per Car Per Heat":
http://www.rmsolo.org/rules.html
We were unaware of the number of 3-Driver cars for the 13-May event and placed too many in heat 1 (hence the move of W to heat 2).
You must comply with this rule and obtain permission from the Event Chairperson in advance of registering a 3-Driver car.

Regarding your post about 3 driver cars. There is a catch 22 in the 3 driver rule. The rule regulates 3 driver cars in a specific heat and says that you have to get prior approval to do this, but is says nothing about 3 driver cars in general.
"The number of drivers per car in any heat will normally be limited to two at any single event. Three drivers per car may be allowed, upon approval by the Event Chair."
So, you could have 5 drivers in a car if they all run in different heats and not need any approval. Of course, you don't know what heats each class is in until after registration is closed. So you can't ask for prior approval until after the run order is set and registration is closed. It don't really work. The rule needs to be changed to read that anyone running car with more than 2 drivers must notify registration on the special requests section of the situation, and management has the right to refuse service, etc. It's the only way to do it that makes sense.

Many thanks to Dale K and T&S for dealing with the overpopulated Barclay Mini. I know it cannot be an easy task to always remember that we have 3 drivers, in 3 different classes. Somehow I don't always remember to mark our entries as 3 driver.
thanks again,
Grant

Dale is exactly right. When the Supplemental Rule was written, we were considering the scenario of 3-driver cars all running in the same heat in the same class. We need to revise the rule to simple state that if you have more than two drivers per car per event you need advanced approval so we can avoid placing all drivers in the same heat. It's a grid flow issue. 3-driver cars in the same heat can create flow issues and if this happens these drivers take the chance of losing runs because we cannot hold up the event for them to swap drivers and get their car ready. This would really be horrible for everyone - driver and the officials having to enforce the penalty - when we're out there to have fun.
