I'll be there.

Jake will have to tell the Z story.

Jake - at least tell us now that the Z is okay.

It is, if you give a pretty wide definitition of "OK".

Mark Baer gets it in a few weeks to yank the motor out and swap the manifolds and turbos out. Time consuming, but nothing super bad.

Imagine it'll be 100% back in shape by the end of May - just my sense of "do it right or don't do it at all" that doesn't allow me to let the previous owner's half-assed work stand.

In the meantime, I'm fixing other minor piddly stuff wrong with the car. Going to be a really nice Z when I'm ready :)

My definition of OK is apparently rather broad. I was just hoping you didn't have to abandon it in Arkansas or somewhere on the drive back! You and it are back in semi-satisfactory condition, it needing a few fixes, so, that is "OK". :)

See you Friday.

Jake was surprised the condition the car was in when he got there, seeing this when he got to Texas.

Funny thing you should mention Dave.

My cousin is this man:

who used to drive this car:

For Nissan's IMSA GTP effort back in the 80's. His name is Don Devendorf, and he went on to found Electramotive. The very first race I ever watched was - I think - when I was 6 or 7 years old, in 1986 or 1987 or so, at Sears Point. He was driving the black California Cooler ZX-Turbo.

My parents bought a '90 300ZX when they came out, and now I"ve got this '90 TT of mine. You could say that Z cars are in my blood :)

The GTP Nissans have always been one of my favorite race cars. Very cool.

As of right now, my plan is to join you for lunch. What's the cuisine at Somi's? Should I practice with a fork, chop-sticks or what?

I'm hoping that Jake will at least bring a picture of the real z_car?

Here it is when I left Alabama:

Not quite so clean now, nor so...assembled.

Looks like a nice ride, to say the least. I didn't see on your site, or missed it, and I'm guessing I would be safe in ES, but do you plan to use this in auto-x?

Hank -

Yep, you're safe in ES. I'm not sure where Z's are classed, although this one would be SM2, at this point.

And no, not going to autocross it - Z32's make dreadful autocross cars. This is purely for fun mountain driving, road trips, and daily driving. It's a delightful GT :)
