Between the Colorado Region and the Continental Divide Region there are three, count 'em, 3 Tire Rack Street Survival Schools scheduled this season.
1. Sunday, May 23rd at the Eagle County Airport in Eagle, CO
2. Sunday, August 1st at PPIR in Fountain, CO
3. Sunday, October 3rd at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO
All three events need instructors and are looking for volunteers.
For both the May 23rd and August 1st events please contact Arnie Coleman (arniecoleman at comcast dot net) and for the October 3rd event contact either Ken HammacK (khammack2 at comcast dot net) or Stephen Kohn (stephen dot kohn at sakohn dot com).
So, who should volunteer? Any of you with a few autocross events under your belt qualify.
So, why should you volunteer? Let's see. You can do it for the classy yellow shirt with "instructor" on the sleeve, the Tire Rack air pressure gauge, the certificate of appreciation that you get after the event... But, most of all, the satisfaction in knowing that you took part in a program that has the potential of saving young drivers' lives by teaching them at least the basics of accident avoidance.
Seeing the smiles on the kids faces and hearing the parents' assessment of the value of the program is worth every minute, and more, that you devote to this worthwhile event.
Please post your availability for the event of your choice.
We want you! We need you.
