My Acura Type R Stolen last night.
So some one has a very yellow and stickered type R that is not theres. I believe it was stolen late last night from my condo complex. If you could please put the word out I'd appreciate it.
Other things people got along with it that might show up for sale - 4 Race tires - 2 Avon 225/45 R 15
2 Kumho 205/50 R 15
4 Mazda Millenia wheels
Impact wrench ahh I can't rememeber the name of the yellow and black brand.
I will add pictures.
Any info would be greatlly appreciated and if I get a tip to catch and arrest the people in denver who steal the cars in denver I'll make it worth your while.

I'm very sorry to hear that, Kinch. Do you mind if I post the info on the BMW list, too?
Hope you get it back fast, and in good shape.

Yellow and Black is DeWalt.
Will your pictures of the Integra be in "Street Trim", Kinch? We all know what it looks like ready to race, but we don't know how much of that "goes away" when you take it home...
Hope you get good news soon.

For reference, here are some pictures of the ITR stickered up from last season.

That is terrible news. I'll keep my eye out.
From what I've seen from previously stolen integras, they usually reappear abandoned on an empty street a couple months later in the Westminster/Thornton area. Not really a pleasant thought, but that is where I'd be looking if my car got stolen.

Sorry to hear about yet another stolen Integra. :( I have passed the info on to a couple of other local forums. Hopefully someone will spot it...
It's been a while since I've seen this car in person... Are there any unique stickers or other appearance items?

DEWD!! Ouch!!! I'm really sorry to hear this Kinch, and not ONLY because we were already short in DStock for Mineral Wells. :D
An attempt at levity:
Kinda (not) funny how all the really competitive DStock cars are going missing recently. I hope they don't figure out where the garage is that I have them all stored in. Donnie, you are next.
Yes. That was awful, but would expect anything less of me? :p
I'll keep my eyes peeled and tell everyone I know that even knows what an ITR is . . . . I hope it comes back in decent shape.

Sorry to hear about the theft. :( Unfortunately, we've seen Honda and Acuras stolen, stripped, and dumped within 24-48 hours. However, there have been some cases where the crooks drove the stolen car around for a while (nobody said they were smart), so let's hope for that. Yellow is the best color that we could hope for... it's noticable and it's not a normal Integra color; it was only available on the Type-R, and only on certain years (white is more common), so there aren't a lot of them floating around. I'd say that any yellow Integra you spot is worth a closer look.
I have passed the info along to a couple of local forums, so hopefully someone will spot it or remember noticing a yellow Integra driving somewhere last night...
Also, if anyone is interested in a GPS tracking system, I got my MobileIQ Silver system from Tobi at TC's Performance (http://www.tcperf.com) for around $450 installed (service starts at $50/year). It can be located and tracked by phone or Internet, has battery backup, works anywhere that there is cell phone reception, and will notify me if the car moves without my permission or if the power is disconnected (in some cases, this can be modified to be triggered by the alarm as well).

Really no update. I spent Monday driving around Denver looking into every shop/garage etc I could. Seems like quite a few people know areas that are suspect so I drove around many of them and asked questions and handed out my number to a lot of people.
I hear people are able to start the cars by breaking or unplugging the ignition. I don't know how they get in the cars but maybe a slimjim.
My car was only in denver Saturday night and then Sunday night after the BMW event. I wonder if they were looking for the black R which I sold last week. Usually mine is never outside so I'm not sure if they just happened to see it Sunday and figured hey the yellow one is as good as any.
I'm thinking there must be a few people who saw something or might know someone who might know some people in the know. Any leads would be appreciated.
I've started looking for another one but I'm not positive I'll end up with another one.
Thanks for putting the word out!

I realized I would pay quite a lot for the return of my car. I am offering $2000 + for tips that lead to the return of my car - please pass this website around -
http://denvercartheft.com/http://denvercartheft.com/ Not sure why I just thought about this last night. I was thinking about getting a bill board and realized a reward would be a good thing as well.

That sucks so much. I'm sorry to hear that your baby was stolen. I really hope they find it all in one piece and the thieves are brought to justice. Just wondering, did you have an alarm on the car? I have an alarm but I wonder how much it would really do to deter experienced car thieves. Also, what the hell is wrong with people? That's really messed up.

Was there any red text near the top of the back window? If so, someone on HAI might know where at least part of it is... http://www.highaltitudeimports.com/showthread.php?p=545786#post545786

I was watching 9News tonight and saw that police had busted a chop shop. On one of their pans through the shop there was a piece of window glass that clearly had black die-cut lettering that said Lefthand Racing on one edge and blue die-cut lettering that said Acura. I backed it up and stopped it on my DVR just to be sure. It looks like rear hatch glass. I know this might not be Kinch's but it definitely has to be from one of you Lefthanded folks out there.

I saw this last night as well so I went on the City of Westminster's site this morning to see if they had any more detailed info on what cars were found. They didn't have anything up so it might be worth a call down there Kinch.

I just got off the phone with the lead detective and he doesn't seem to care if any of my parts are in there. He said there were so many tools and shocks that they would not know if any of the pieces were mine. He isn't willing for me to look around either. I would be more than interested to hear if some other leftHandRacing cars or parts were stolen. I would like to see the DVR of the news story as well. I don't think I had left hand racing on any glass though and my rear hatch was found a while back. The detective said all the type R parts belonged to other type r's in the shop - not sure if he has a clue about type R since he said something about three of them being in there. Most likely there are three integras in there not three type R's.
When I told him I had left hand racing stickers on the car he said that didn't ring any bells. One would think he might say oh yeah another car had a sticker like that on it. My wish is to know if the thieves who cut my car up were caught or not?!?

That car did have the left hand racing and the blue Acura stickers as stated above. I did not record it, but I do have a TIVO and I paused it and noticed it also had the Tire Rack banner across the top, which led me to believe it was an SCCA members car.
9news puts a lot of their broadcast on their website, so you might be able to watch it that way. If not, if you contact them they might be able to do something. I wonder if they even have additional footage they would share.

Are the lefthand racing and acura stickers on glass or body panels? and if on body panels what color?
Tom Hunsinger
06-23-2006, 08:09 PM
They were on glass. The Lefthandracing was down one edge of the window and the Acura was at ninety degrees to it, starting at the "L" in Lefthand. I couldn't capture on my DVR either, sorry!

Yeah, you can clearly see a pile of yellow stuff on the right side in that picture... sure looks like it could go along with those chopped-up pieces of Kinch's car that were found on the side of the road last month. I'm told that the guys who got busted at this shop were known to hang out at Sonic off of Federal near 96th ave on Friday/Saturday nights, and would take quite an interest in people's Hondas and Acuras and what they had done to them.
This chop shop is definately not responsible for all Honda/Acura thefts in the area though... On early Thursday morning (2am-5am), a friend of mine's white 1995 Acura Integra GS-R was stolen from Longmont. It's pretty distinct looking with dark tint, white Type-R wing, yellow highbeam lenses, 17" rims, and black Acura emblems. Here's a picture: http://home.comcast.net/%7Ecivic_methodz/sugamill3.jpg It was spotted heading towards Westminster on Highway 287 around 4:30pm on Thursday, but hasn't been seen since. And just last night, a friend of a friend had a black 1999 Civic Si (without wing) stolen from LoDo.
I'm really happy the cops finally did a big bust, but the problem is still growing faster than they are arresting people.
