Apparently the Gods are against me finishing my 911 ANYTIME soon.

My engine in my 98 Legacy GT (EJ25 2.5 liter) decided to go the way of the dinosaurs this week, and I need another. Any of you subie guys have a decent source for the motors? Super Rupair is pretty pricey at $1800.

Thanks for any leads.

Mike

And... as a side note... if you can afford it, seems to be that the 2001+ 2.5L engines are said to be the on the quieter/more reliable/more fuel efficient than the previous years...

Thanks Roger. Same engine code? HJ25? Bolt in, or does it require some work?

My experience is with replacments on 98 & 99 2.5L Foresters, but the 2001 & 2002 engines were the same code, and direct bolt-ins. Most of the changes were apparently minor internal changes made for reliability and reduced NVH...
