Does anyone know who currently is owner, or know of previous owners of the Continental Divide Race Park?
It right off I-25 and exit 245 (CO road 34 for Mead) on the north east corner.

Appreciate anyone who can provide any email / phone / contact name information. Thanks!

At one point, it was (the late) Larry Miller of Miller Motorsports Park fame, maybe try contacting MMP?

Yes, MMP would have been built in Mead if the (Meadians?, Meadites?) wouldn't have complained about it..... NIMBY.... <grumble>

Now, why would anyone want to build a premier racing facility that would bring in millions of dollars to a community?

Wankers!!!

Emailed today; see what their response is.

Also, after much searching, I found a name and info that puts me to a law firm into Boulder.
Might have to bite the bullet and cold-call them to see if there's anything at large.

Miller motorsports no longer owns that track as of late 2005. It was sold to a development company in AZ, along with the adjoining property (which is sizable).

I have contact information somewhere, just need to dig it up. PM me if you would like details.

If you would please, that would be swell. PM sent.
Also got word back from MMP concerning the ownership...
Was told they sold it off early 2009?

Check with the County Assessors office in the county that the property's located.

They may be online, or at least the Jefferson County Assessor is. You should be able to find who currently holds title to the property...

You might try calling Mike Pettiford at Go 4 IT racing school.
He has used that track in the past and may have a contact.

PM sent to Erik.

Folks,

If you all want to try to get something together to assume the lease on a short term basis, I know that 4 years ago, the owners were willing to talk. But at the time, they were not interested in shouldering the responsibility of managing the track. That's why they wanted someone to assume a lease and thereby the management and care taking responsibilities.

Thanks Josh, PM sent again.

With the information I've been given and have found, there's alot of holes in the history.
And still haven't been able to find a current holder.
Town of Mead isn't responding; I need to try Weld County to see what I can locate.

A quick search this AM found this track site:

http://share.traqmate.com/tracks/north-america/united-states/colorado/continental-divide-race-park/5794

It lists the current owners as the Shelby Museum in Boulder, and "not readily available for use"

This is the link to their website, but there's no mention of the track that I could find.

http://www.shelbyamericancollection.org/events.html

Hope this was more than useless ;)

Track would certainly need a lot of work - we last ran there in 2005. I thought the Town of Erie's Water/Sewage treatment plant was going to subsume the track?
