Just wanted to see if anyone had a recommended tire installer for the SE Denver area. I hear the Tire Source in Boulder does good work but driving an hour each way is a little much. Based on the Tire Rack's recommended installers South East auto or Swis Tire is a possibility so if anyone has dealt with either, or know of anyone else, let me know. Thanks!

Spend a day in boulder and enjoy the mtns. Go for a hike. Pete is pretty good at swapping out tires in the same day. I'd rather spend the time driving to someone that I trust and is resonable...than someone who may bend my wheels trying to squeeze on a tire.

I haven't had really good luck with Swis on Arapahoe - they always dented my van hubcaps and shrugged when you said something. It's a little bit of a drive from the SE side but a fellow Auto-Xer Rei Makino is at the Discount Tire at South Wadsworth, he did a great job with my cantelivered slicks on UL panasports. I've found most Big O stores have a "no race tire" policy now.
Most discount tires have at least one guy who has a clue about mounting race tires. Usually it's the guy behind the counter who says "I'll mount these myself"

I've used Southeast Auto several times with no complaints. Roc Ericsson who runs the place is easy to get along with, and they're pretty open to "racer" requests (custom alignments, etc.). Had 'em roll the back fenders on my Cobra recently, too, and was satisfied with the result.

I get most of my tire work done through Discount Tire on Iliff near Buckley, though. They've been able to get any tire I've wanted and will match TireRack's price, with the added bonus of mounting 'em for free. Customer service has always been top rate (despite being unbelieveably busy most of the time), and it seems like about half of the swapping around of existing tires they've done for me for free.

I used Big O on Iliff and Chambers once for a race day emergency (corded a tire at SCR during morning qualifying). They were the only place I could find open on a Sunday, and while I wasn't tremendously impressed with the help's customer service skills, they got my "spare" tire swapped onto the rim in time for me to get back to SCR and compete in the p.m.

I've been real happy with the folks over at Performance Wheel and Tire on Santa Fe and Oxford. If you're interested in going over there, PM me and I'll give you a contact I have that will hook you up.
