I just had my exhaust replaced today and even with the muffler it's friggin loud:eek: Is there anyway or anywhere I can see if it's too loud?? (other than getting pulled over of course).

If you can get a hold of a sound meter (radio shack, borrow somebodies???), you can get an indication, but nothing's official except an official reading :-( Your chiefs are trying to help everyone out by taking sound measurements at DIA events. Take advantage of this, get a reading with your exhaust the way it is. I'd also suggest bringing some "countermeasures" to see how they help, things like adding a supertrapp, steel wool, deflecting tips, whatever you can think of ..... just so it's safe. Try to give yourself some margin, measuring sound is funny business, so you don't want to be right at the limit.

PS - I doubt that your chiefs will arrange for a private session, and probably won't loan out the "official" sound meter. They're great, but not *that* great :-)

Just replaced the tiny mufflers with something more reasonable. Now small children don't cry so much when I drive by.

Will sound measurements be taken at Saturdays auto-x??

A good attitude to take is, "Hey, at least it's quieter than a certain black vette.."
That's what I say....

I believe there's a sound meter posted at every event, they post the sound logs when they post results.
Here's the sound log for the last event.
