I noticed that the schedule for the DIA ProSolo includes "practice/registration" on the friday before the event. Are you sunk if you can't make it on friday? Is this the case for all events? I ask because I'm getting set to head to texas for the mineral wells pro, and I was planning on arriving on friday evening, but I'll probably get there pretty late. Will I be able to check in on saturday?

I realize that attending on friday is recommended, but given my work schedule, that's probably impossible...I can't really leave town earlier than late thursday afternoon...

AFAIK, you will be able to check in on Saturday morning if needed.

Registration and tech on Friday are highly recommended, as checking in, teching and trying to get course walks done on Saturday morning is squeezing things a little tight. I'd recommend emailing SCCA to let them know you are planning a Saturday morning check in, that way they will be expecting you to only show on Sat am.

For any ProSolo novices, try to get some pratice in on Friday afternoon. The burnout and staging procedure can be a little intimidating for the first time. but registering on Saturday morning is better than not competing at all.

I have to agree with Grant on this one, I was very grateful Jesse and I were able to get to Wendover on Friday in time for practice last year. I was pretty nervous about the starting procedures. Another nice thing is there is a novice walkthough (just the starting procedures) given by an event official that will help as well on Friday evening. The rules of staging will be explained at this time as well.

I see...Thanks guys. When does the friday stuff begin? I'm thinking I'm going to try to pull an all-nighter so I can get there on friday...sleep would be nice, but I can do that friday night...;)

practice starts usually begin at 3pm local time and run until 5pm. Car must be teched before you can practice.

Thanks Grant. Goodee. It looks like I can pull my all-nighter, take a nap at the motel and make it to friday practice just fine. Heck, if I get there after 12pm, I don't even need to change my motel reservation!

I'll see you mini marauders out there! ;)

Did you happen to notice that Brian Fitzpatrick is in our class too? Crap.

It's gonna be quite the learning experience, I think...Chances are I'll be running an untested coilover setup out there too...
