I need a carburetor synchronizer to tune my triple Weber set up on my GT6. The kind that covers the carb inlet. Anyone have one I could borrow?

The only person I can think of that might have one is Matt... and if he hasn't responded I'm guessing he doesn't.

That's the one I have/had. I have no idea where it is. You need to buy one; triple (or dual) Webers are constant maintenance.

$40. Not bad.
Allegedly, a piece of tube, one end inserted in the air horn, the other in your ear, is effective. I never had great luck with that, but the idea is simple, adjust based on the sound (a whistling/sucking sound).
I was always afraid that it was going to backfire in my ear.
Carbs suck.

Ssssssssssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh hhhh........
I was hoping to avoid writing another of my theses on this and that, this time on carburetors and synchronization, but alas, I have been shamed into it. This use of bandwidth isn't may fault!
First off, to answer the easy question, yes I have carburetor synchronizers. Secondly, Mr. Mannix is misinformed as to the general suckiness of carburetors, especially my beloved Webers. With a properly set up linkage, and assuming the gas doesn't stay in the carbs long enough to gum up the jets, Webers don't need anything once they're set up properly. Anyone who does not have that experience has throttle linkage that has slipped or gaskets that are leaking, end of story.
I have the BK synchronizers, but only two of them. Ideally I like to use one per carburetor, and ALWAYS synch the carbs off idle, so all the slop is out of the throttle linkage. That, by the way, is another reason people with multiple carbs have so many problems, they're synching the carbs at idle and it has little bearing on what happens once the throttle is opened. If you're careful and patient, you can synch three carbs with two BK synchronizers, it's just easier with one per carb. You can also do all the carbs with a Uni-Syn if they're still made, I used to keep one of those in my tool box I took with me - they're small and much less expensive than the SK or BK synchronizers.
At any rate, Robert, the big problem with my synchronizers is finding time to use them! I was kind of hoping someone else would volunteer, 'cuz I'm kind of sketchy on having weekend time off these days! Laurel and I really only have Wednesday and Thursday nights off, and that doesn't include this Wednesday. Or either day next week. Then it's Thanksgiving, then... Depending on your schedule and patience, we can work something out...eventually.... Let me know what kind of schedule you have, and we'll see if we can get together! I'm in Westminster.

suck suck suck horrible yucky barfy AWFUL!
I liked Webers Just Fine....
....until I put fuel injection on the car. Ahhhhh. Now, the only fuel-system maintenance I have to do is make sure the key is in right
See, the 2002's key is asymmetrical. I like it with the tab down. Sometimes, people put it in tab-up, which really bugs me.
So, I turn the car off, flip the key around, start the car again.
Voila.
Once I stopped using super crappy linkage (IE, a stout enough linkage rod which did not flex/twist), the syncing problems went away, and I did eventually get competent enough to have reliable Webers; both the white Rabbit before it became green, and the 2002 ran for a couple of years on Webers.
I guess I could spin it another way - EFI sucks BUNCHES less than carbs. It is more of a headache to get set up initially, but once it is done, the car just runs. Lovely.
Plus, my tuning-kit is multipurpose now; not only can I change mixtures with it, I can adjust the rev limiter, check my email, google stuff, play Minesweeper, all KINDS of cool stuff that the box of jets can't do;).
Iain (<--- used to like carbs, now I hate them....)
