Who would I talk to here about some interesting things regarding my car's "factory specs" and classing rules?

Everyone and anyone!
Post your cars "peculiarities" here and you get lots of good info and opinions on possible classing scenarios. Many cars will fit into more than one class . . .

Alright, so as many of you know (and my signature says) I have a 1970 Triumph GT6+. However, I recently found out that there were 2 1970 models, an "early" '70 that follows all mark 2 specs that you will find, and a "late" '70 that mixes some mark 3 components with those of mark 2. I have the "late" model. I have a stock engine with Weber carbs, but in my mk2 car (mk2 body, mk2 chasis), I have a mk3 engine, mk3 ignition, etc. Does this cause any problems with my classing? Do I count my car as a mk2 or a mk3?

Sounds like there could be an argument for *SP, given the update/backdate allowances.
no?

If the car was manufactured that way it might fit in STS as well, right?
For SP, are there different classifications for the MK2 and MK3 in the 2009 Solo rulebook?

I happen to be pouring over the SP rules and cars. It just lists "GT6" in FSP. So they're all on the same line.
Take care,

Stock Classes:
Manufacturer Model Solo Class
Triumph all except TR8 & Stag HS
Triumph Stag FS
Triumph TR8 ES
I assume the weber carbs are not factory stock so FSP (http://cms.scca.com/documents/Solo_Rules/2009_Street_Prepared_Category_by_Manufacturer.pdf) it is or...
If the engine displacement is <= 1.9L you are OK for STS (http://cms.scca.com/documents/Solo_Rules/2009_Street_Touring_Category_Classfications_by_Man ufacturer.pdf).

Well unfortunately it is not under 1.9 litres. Smallest six you will ever hear of, 2.0. :P Alright so no problems with FSP there then? What about upgrades?

*SP more or less allows different springs & sway bars, different sized wheels & tires, different intake & exhaust (headers)...
Street Prepared rules are on Page 94 of the Rule Book (http://cms.scca.com/documents/Solo_Rules/2009_Solo_Rules.pdf).
15.10 ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN
C. Induction allowances are as follows:
1. Carburetors, fuel injection, and intake manifolds are unrestricted,
subject to 15.10.D. Alternate throttle linkage and
connections to facilitate installation of allowed induction
systems are permitted, but may serve no other purpose. If an
induction system item is allowed to be removed and its original
mounting bracket can be removed by simply unbolting it,
the bracket may be removed as well.
