Pictures limit and video embedding

Is there a reason why we're limited to only 4(four) images/smilies per post?

Also, any possibility to allow embedding videos (like from youtube) to the posts?

Honestly, is there any reason we need to? More than 4 pictures warrants an album, and a link to youtube suffices pretty well.
