The TT site says that cars use the Solo2 car classing:
http://www.sccatimetrials.org/gettingstarted.html

I remember the rules used to be that you could prepare a car to your choice of Solo or Club classes, and it reading through the 2008 TT rulebook at the above link, there are references to cars prepared to Solo vs Club classes.

Is it still ok to prepare a car to Club racing classes instead of Solo classes?

Thanks!

The TTR allows for both Solo, and GCR classes, as well as anything else that a region chooses to implement. This is where our regional OSP class comes into play...

Keep in mind you can't mix-n-match. The car is either a Solo car, prepared to the rules of the class. Or it's a GCR car, prepared to the rules of that class. You can't mix-and-match preparation, or safety allowances.

Yeah...I've got that part.
For solo I really like the ST classes, but I miss the time trials (I ran the last season of SCR and meade) and if I go back to trials, I think I would like to be on race rubber and possibly have a full roll cage (which I hope to never use!) which really limits what you can run in solo.
Do many people run street tire classes in the trials? I read the thread about starts from last weekend (very positive discussion there), and I'd hate to contribute to the problem if I'm alone on street tires.

The cage doesn't limit you, except the hit on weight. Cages are allowed in all classes. Race rubber, always fun. The why not run an SP class if you have ST suspension? The rules aren't exactly alike for suspension, but they're pretty close.

Good call. I have a big brake kit which wasn't allowed in ESP a couple of years ago, but it looks like they changed that for the 2009 regs. According to the Solo rules, it also looks like I could build a car to ITR specs and run it as ESP in solo, as long as I don't mix and match. I'll have to compare the two classes.
Thanks again!

I was wondering why I haven't seen you at many autocross events this season. :p

HPR is to blame. That and work, and vacations, and ...

Many drivers, including myself, are doing events on Street Touring tires of some sort. The BMW drivers are getting fantastic results with the Dunlop Z1 Star Spec Direzzas--big time fun for the dollar to be certain!

Others are running Nitto NT-01s or Toyo RA-1/R888 or similar. A few of us break out the Hoosiers when we're running at a smooth track like HPR.

For the Pueblo event, I will defintely be on the Dunlops--I don't want to destroy my R6's!
