So it looks like I won't be able to run my ES car on Sunday. :(
If I run the BS car, which isn't really ready for the school or Sun (the garage queen ya know) with marginal rear tires... then am I stuck in BS for the season or just until I can get the other ES car running? I don't really want points in BS, do I?
What are my options to have a good season in ES given the fact that I'm going to miss the first in the series and will miss 3 or 4 more because of vacation.

Hank,
The answer to this, and many other questions can be found in the Suplemental Rules. There's a link to them on the "menu bar on the left side of this page. Look under "Championship Series."

Can I change cars when I register or do I have to do it this morning before 10?

Hank,
It's best to change the class when you register, it saves the confusion at the event. You can run a different class at every event if you want, but any points you accumulate in a class stay in that class (unless you move to X class). So, if you run in BS it won't help you for you ES season, but you can still keep get an event trophy.

It's best to do it beforehand. One less thing for you and Registration and T&S to deal with at the event.

Hank,
Wanna run my Miata and have your points stay in ES?

So, I could run a bunch of rubber of your new tires? I like the sound of that.
Thanks for the offer Tom, but I'll run in the BS class.
Besides, what if I liked your car.

What do you mean "if"? You might not want to drive the Miata to and fro Cheyenne, but I bet it's a lot more fun than both of your P cars combined on course. :D On the road, it's a car of a whole different color. Keep the offer in mind for the future, especially of you get tight on events to qualify for an award.
