Hello All,
I have a 1978 Mini Cooper, it has a 850cc motor, front wheel drive, which class would I be in? H-stock maybe?

Assuming, of course, that an 850cc engine is the engine that came in that car in that year. Also, the wheels must be stock width and diameter (I seem to remember 10 inch diameter wheels, 5 inches wide).
Does the car have any modifications from the stock configuration?

It is the original 850cc. It's a Mini 850, as a model name. The wheels that came on it from factory were a choice between 5.5x10 or 6.5x10. I have both sets. I've also replaced most of the suspension with new parts, so it's not all wobbly... I do however have to rebuild the head, so it might be a bit before I run it. That's about it as far as what I've done to it. I did have one more questions though... If I swap a cooper s system onto it(I.E. head and manifold), could I still run it in stock, as long as it's 100% of the cooper s system?

Ah OK thanks Nick.
I always thought Cooper and Austin were two different manufacturers so it doesn't really make sense to me that a Cooper would be listed under Austin, but it's there just the same.

All Hail the omniscient Wikipedia!!!
". . . Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969."
Google "Austin Mini-Cooper history", and there's more than you'll probably want to read . . .

i believe all you can do in stock is shocks ft sway cat back exhaust and +-10mm on tire size?

Tire size is whatever you can stuff on your stock size wheels. Wheels can be up to a quarter inch off of stock offset.

I have all the stuff to put full original cooper s stuff on the car, atleast from the head down through the exhaust, and the original cooper s was made in 1963, which I have in my garage:) just needs full resto.
