:)
Not the first time out for several folks, but worth a reminder of a few things to add to your packing list for this weekend.
1. Tech Sheets. If you have one, bring your tech sheet, and get that out of the way for the season! Remember--spot inspections and impound will occur throughout the season, so keep your car and safety equipment up to snuff all season.
2. Rain Gear. Yeah, it looks like its going to be wet and in the 40's-50's. Hey, at least it isn't snow. No place to hide in the middle of nowhere, so bring suitable clothing. Bring shelter if you have it and share with your friends!
3. Tow Hooks. See #2.
4. Your Brain. New track and wet weather make for a great way to learn this weekend. Have a purpose for every lap, and start to build your vision, auditory, and "sense of feel" senses for the corners, and your car on track. We'll continue our session debriefs and discussions from last year as we all learn this new track together.
5. Positive Attitude. Be ready to have some fun, and drive/behave in a way that helps others do so as well.
See you at the track!

For those that have not been out yet. There is absolutely NOTHING out there for rain protection. They have one small trailer (single wide ;) ) for timing / scoring. They have a second building, but I don't believe it is open yet (wasn't as of last Friday).

Actually, there are about 6 handicap p-o-p's out there. Not sure how fresh they will be, but you can stay dry in there ;)

If the weather goes south, I'm gonna hang with these guys again.
If you are staying out on site, you might wanna consider some of this stuff:
warm sleeping bag or whatever
electric blanket- there are electric sites $, first come basis, or you might be able to plug into your neighbors genny, if you don't have one.
it does get quite windy,
water,

Is it worth even bringing an EZ-up? Or is it just going to get blown to bits?

With the pending weather (possible snow here ), I'm going out Friday night and stay on-site. I also planning on staying over Saturday night as well. Anyone else staying on-site?

Thanks Dave! When I was out there on the 24th for the open day at days end the wind was really, really bad. Don't know what you put us volunteer's to work doing Saturday, but I'm pretty sure it will be out in the open, and on my feet so I'm dressing warm and dry! 40's rain, and that wind could be pretty miserable.

Were not staying on site, but we do have plenty room at our place (~60 miles from the track) if anyone would like a place to crash over the weekend.
Shoot me a PM, we'd be happy to accommodate anyone that doesn't like sleeping in the rain. Unless you happen to be my mother-in-law. :)

If you stay in Byers, walk over to the Golden Spur and play pool
with Gordon (a local good guy, not G. Sams), leave your money home.
Mark and I will be swilling the good stuff (JD) and toasting marshmellows
over the bar-b-que. (Pool with Gordon$$,or Mark, Hank..., hmm..)
