Welcome!

Unfortunately "sports car based" cars aren't allowed in street touring category, so you'd have to run in your appropriate SP class.

I would also check the legality of your MC brace or whatever that is as well. I'm not sure if that is legal or not. I wanted to put one of those on my car too, but definitely not ST legal :(

I have no idea. I can't even understand my own class's rules.. let alone any other classes, heh.

well i suppose i can remove my mastercylinder brace when i auto x if it helps me fit into a class better, it seems like id have more similar competition in Street prepaired than i would in SM2, i just want to get out there and have some fun and learn how to handle my car better.

The MC brace really doesn't enhance performance, but the rulebook doesn't say it is allowed, so it isn't.

Nobody will care unless you come out and start annihilating everyone. Someone ran a turbo'd civic in STS last year (I have video :D) and I don't think anyone said anything to him at all.

Just come out and have a good time. While you are at the race you can ask some people for advice. If you're worried about the brace, you can take it off.. but I wouldn't bother at least for your first few outings :)

Next Item i was wondering about, is is it a good idea for me to put track brake pads in, is there time for them to sufficently heat up, or should i stick with my Hawk HPS pads?

FWIW i used the HPS's in the past

the track pads may need to much heat to be effective

HPS pads are good. I run them on my civic. They have good cold bite.

If you move up to stronger track pads like HP+ or whatever, then they need to be warm to get a good bite.

"body Mods" what all falls into this category? because i noticed that this is illegal in SP and i have an aftermarket facia. well not really aftermarket its made by nissan but only came on japanese cars in 1999

so i was curious if that would be legal in SP?

If your car is legal for any of the ST classes (STS, STX, STS2, STU) you can run in SP under the following provisions from the 2006 rules

15. STREET PREPARED CATEGORY

...
Cars listed as eligible in and prepared to the current national Street
Touring (ST) class rules are permitted to compete in their respective
Street Prepared classes, with the additional allowance that they
may use any tire which meets the requirements of 15.3 and fits on
the ST-legal wheels and within the ST-legal bodywork.
...

You just have to comply to the ST rules besides tires; however, you cannot use rules from the ST set and rules from the SP to modify your car. It must be completly ST legal. SP allows cat removal, ST doesn't.
