As you may know, CDR is hosting our first road race of the season, a double National event, at Pueblo Motorsports Park this weekend, 8 & 9 April. Registration has exceeded all expectations, with 120 cars registered to date! This is great for the regions and the racers, but it has created a problem with workers. Simply put, we do not have enough Corner Workers to conduct a safe event. We need at least a dozen additional (or more) to be able to hold the event. If we do not get sufficient workers, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HOLD THE EVENT!!!
No special qualifications are required to work a corner; you will be teamed with experienced workers, and learn by doing. Your lunch will be paid for on the day(s) you work, your dinner and "adult" beverages will be provided free at the Saturday nite race party, and the region will pay 1/4 of your hotel room (team up with three friends and the room is free!!)
You need to be at the base of the timing tower no later than 7:15 each morning to get your assignment.
This is the closest you're going to get to extremely competitive road racing without a competition license. I'm asking all of you, Roadracers, TTers Soloists, Rallyists and bench racers to consider investing a little time supporting your club and fellow enthusiasts, and inviting a friend or two to join you.
Contact Brenda Abbott at paragonseating@netzero.com if you are able to help or have any specific questions.
BTW, some of you may be aware of the Worker Incentive program that CDR ran last year, and I know some of you earned rewards that you have not received yet. Our Worker Incentive Program administrator had to step down from that position in the off- season, and we are having some difficulty recovering the program details and worker data at this time. I assure you we will be resurrecting the program to it's full vigor soon. Those of you who are expecting rewards from last year will get them, and those of you who work this, and subsequent events on the RMDiv schedule will get credit toward end-of-year rewards.
Thank you for your support . . .
