Speaking of fuel replenishment...
Is there a good place to buy 5 gal. fuel jugs locally? I need at least 2 and a filler tube & funnel. I’ve found them from $20 -$25 on-line.

AAI in Arvada or the speed shop near Evans & Santa Fe, forget the name of it, mostly a drag shop, but they have lotsa cool stuff.
I'm sure there are others, but those are the two I think of right off.

CheckPoint (http://www.cp-racing.com/) usually has what I need at the last minute.

If CheckPoint doesn't have them, I usually go to OnTrack Performance on S. Platte River Dr. at Dartmouth (just west of Santa Fe - 1 block, and on the east side of the river facing west). They have the plastic 5.5 gallon JazzJugs with filler necks in a multitude of colors.

Yeah, OnTrack! That's the place.
Thanks, Ian, was ticking me off that I could not remember it. They have cool stuff there.

Leary Racing products in Denver (Santa Fe and Evans) has them as well. JEGS has nice cans for $11 each. If you don't mind waiting for them

Yeah, that does not surprise me - I suspect those guys know everything there is to know about smallblock Chevys, but website? Aint that oneathem things they have on the inter-net?
Good guys, though, and a good place (albeit a smidge pricey) to get AN fittings and aluminum rivets and random weird racecar stuff in a hurry.

Hummmm, I only saw the $20 ones and the $30 CARB approved ones. They do have a cap & filler tube for $11.99 though.

Any motorcycle shop should have a variety of styles, colors, neck and filler hose sizes and "handgrip" locations and styles at competitive prices (yes, the web's a few bucks cheaper).
I shop the internet often, but sometimes it's nice to be able to put your hands on the product, especially when there are options and choices.
A word of caution. Make sure you get a verbal guarantee from the shop that the cap won't leak. Some cap/gasket designs really suck (er, drip!). Ask me how I know . . .

We should have plenty at RPM Motorsports, either ask for me in service or Dave Mills at the parts counter, and tell him you're with RMSolo or SCCA, I forget which way I put the account in the computer. At any rate, you'll get the gas cans at 10% over my (employee) cost. Not sure what that works out to, but it should be more than competitive! The account is mainly in there for helmets, but gas cans are close, right? Brain bucket, gas bucket...

how about a group-buy... :)
i'd be interested in two 5-gals.
i know some others that would need some of these as well given the HPR proximity concerns.

Make sure you purchase a fire extinguisher as well for refueling :)

What is the largest size of gas jug commonly available? I'm going to need to bring about 20 gallons of E85 to get roughly 30-40 minutes of track time in the Evo, I believe...

5 gallons is typical.

Hsun, remember you have to carry it full. Fuel is what 5 or 6 lbs a gallon.
One interesting can I found looking online

Features:
* Pours 5 gallons in thirty eight seconds
* Fluids stop flowing after reaching the end of the spout automatically
* Just pull up and the valve shuts off fluid flow
* No vent to open and close or to leak when pouring
* Stops over filling and prevents spilling
And the best feature of all:
* Not legal in California

I have the Flo-Fast pump, a very nifty piece of kit.
Works really well for empyting fuel cells, essential in some instances.
Even pumps fuel pretty fast, 5 gallons in less than 45 seconds (redneck pump attachment)
Interested in feedback on the Ripper, someone buy one.

Here's my trick for the Generator and ATVs, likely could be used for special race gas for an event or two:

Don't forget that fancy Sunoco gas goes bad when exposed to sunlight. Don't get the "clear" 5 gal cans.
If your fancy gas turns dark brown, it's better off in the Lawn Mower.

Ditto. They do come in a nice blue color though (and they're square = better for strapping together in the trunk):

Dammit, too late now to order/receive them by this Friday... good work Hsun, waiting until AFTER the minute!!
And Chris S.: Yes, I realize carrying fuel jugs full of E85 will add weight to the Evo. Therefore, I will remove them BEFORE heading out onto the track... but that's the only reason. :)

Added one of these to the weekend racing inventory. Will report back, hose looks underwhelming, so may need a longer stronger version. Tank is nice, needs a ground strap.
thanks Bill

Ask Kinch how great an Evo smells after spewing 5 gallons of gas all over the trunk
