For Sale:
'87 Toyota MR2 Engine/trans have less than 100 miles since rebuild.
Built to Street Prepared rules. I have over $4000 invested in the engine and about $8500 in the total rebuild.
Custom .040 overbore JE Pistons. Easily the most legal aftermarket pistons in the class.
New original Toyota cams
New original Toyota intake/exhaust valves and springs
TRD header
DTA E48 EXP (http://www.dtafast.co.uk) ECU.
Intake/exhaust port matched within rules.
TRD Clutch
TRD 12lb Flywheel. Uses smaller clutch from '85-'86 MR2 for less rotating mass.
Bottom end ballanced by Equipose in Loveland.
Transmission rebuilt with original Toyota parts.
New brake rotors
New Toyota coolant hoses.
Aftermarket radiator fan.
TRD springs
Tokico Lumina shocks
Suspension Techniques front swaybar
ADCO rear swaybar
8" x 13" Dura-lite 3-piece aluminum wheels.
Now the bad news:
Paint (Red) fadded pretty bad.
Eletrical noise in the ECU. I think is possible ground loop noise. May just need to ground the ECU at the battery.
O2 sensor reading doesn't change at WOT even if fuel map is altered.
The car was fast. It should be even faster once the few small issues are taken care of. Click links to see results from the last races I did in the car.
'97 Divisional (http://www.rmsolo.org/results/97/rmdiv97.txt)
'97 Solotrials at Stapleton (http://www.rmsolo.org/results/97/rmst0413.txt) Precurser to Time Trials.
Weight: 2290 w/ 1/4 tank of gas. But at this weight the car would keep up with Honda's weighing 500-600 pounds less in a drag race.
Reason for selling? My racing interest have taken me elsewhere, mainly club racing. Reason for not finishing the project? With the start of my business, BLR Motorsports, I don't have the time to work on it.
Price: $4000 firm. I will throw in a pair of MOMO Nascar seats with mounting brackets. Like I posted above I have over $4000 in the engine and over $8500 in the rebuild.
If interested please email me (brian@blrmotorsports.com) or call my cell 720-841-3524
