HPR will be getting a double tire delivery Friday morning January 23rd, that means 2,000 tires this time. The truck is usually there by 8:00 A.M. and sorting takes place as we unload. If anyone can come out to the track and help unload, please come.

Free lunch!!! (Two of my favorite words!!! :D )

And then come over to my apartment to help me load and unload at my new house!!!
I am closing that day.

Sorry, can't make it to HPR, but good news for the track.

There's a website for the tire bundling project...

Ted Winning (gofst1) is heading up the project. You can go there and get all the info in detail.
Basically, we start between 8:00 and 8:30 on Fridays unloading the truck(s) and spend the rest of the day building walls. We usually go to around 3:00 PM. It takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get back to I-25 & I-70 from Byers so plan your return trip with that in mind.
Let Ted know your coming so he can plan accordingly.

We are short on battery chargers for the cordless drills. Anyone have
an extra charger they would like to donate? We are short on Craftsman
and DeWalt chargers. We are recharging on site with a generator, but
have more batts needing charge then we have chargers.

If you have one, let us know here, maybe Mark or someone else coming thru could pick
it up.
Thanks,

From HPR...

HPR and Ted Winning Needs Your Help!

It been several weeks since your physical help was solicited via this HPR email service. During that time Ted Winning has done a superb job of organizing the HPR Tire Bundling project.

You should be aware that a hard core of folks have responded and consistently turned out to bundle tires during December and January. Kudos to all those folks! The weather wasn't always the greatest but they were there, making YOUR track happen.

FYI, here's what they've already accomplished:

14,000 of 16,000 tires have been delivered to the site, unloaded, sorted and stacked.
About about 10,000 tires have already been bundled.
More than half of those bundles have been distributed around the circuit.

However, Ted wants to step up the pace a bit and have the entire project done by March 1st. This means he needs to bundle and distribute about 1,500 tires on each of the next four February weekends. It can be done but they need some fresh "talent" to show up on the coming Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

If you're looking for a way to help HPR without having to turn loose of hard cash, here's your chance. Just sitting back and depending on others to do all the work on YOUR track could result in some serious guilt issues and we wouldn't want that! Seriously, this is a chance for you to put in a little sweat equity and to take additional "ownership" in YOUR new great facility. More than a hundred folks have already done so and they've really enjoyed the experience.

PLEASE join in and help 'em out. It's a great way to spend the a day and you'll forever be proud of helping make HPR one of the truly unique and wonderful accomplishments in the country.

CLICK HERE (http://hprtireguys.yuku.com/directory)to read much more about the project and how to respond to what's needed, when, and how to let Ted know that you too will help him meet his goals. He'd really prefer email at:

The last 2 loads of tires were delivered on 2/6/2009 so the bundling can proceed with great gusto now.
There were at least 30 people out there for the final un-loading, even a guy from that other 4 letter space club showed up to help.
Hank, Kubo and I (along with a couple others) managed to get 12 bundles built ourselves despite being constantly attacked by killer tumbleweeds all day. Man it was windy out there!

So tell me again why the self-stacking tires weren't ordered? :D

Megan, the boys and I will be piling in the party wagon and heading to the track on the 21st, bringing the BBQ. We'll provide the fire if anyone wants to bring their own grillables!
