I already have 3 used tires (that are in better shape than my current racing tires), but I need 1 more. I'll have to get 2-3/32nds shaved off. Anyone know a place that could do that? Any ideas on cost?

Pete at Tire Source in Boulder. They'll shave new tires only.

Tire source. They charge $25/tire to shave if you didn't buy the tires from them. $15/tire if you do buy the tires from them.
I asked about this last year some time, and someone emailed about about a guy in the springs that 'might' do it, but I never followed up.

boulder's closer than the springs for me. When you say they'll only shave a new tire, does that mean one bought from them?
I'd like to just find a used tire and take the extra 32nd's off since a new tire is about $200 (damn expensive potenza's) and it looks like I can buy the tire on ebay for aroun $70 shipped. I just need something for a few events until i save enough for some new 245 40's.

They will shave any new tire, whether you bought it from them or not. See my previous post about prices.
They (and anyone else that shaves tires) will not shave a tire that has been driven on. Rocks and dirt on/in the rubber ruin the tire shaver.

Drew,
Mount the new tires on the right side, and the used tires on the left. That way, you'll have the "right" stagger for your car (torque steer you know) ;)
