So, I've heard recently that for SCCA ProSolo that only the best two of your FIRST three events counts towards year-end standings.
My question is this:
If D-Stock is the class that I hope to win, can I run an event or two basically as throw-aways in another class, STX, without affecting my D-Stock standings?

Good question. I think I'd send that one to Tasha for an official ruling.

You can run in any class your car is legal in.
So you could run Atwater, Denver and WEndover in DS
and Mineral Wells, Peru and DC in STX. You could also run the appropriate SP class. You might even qualify for the finale in two different classes and you could choose the softer class. or the one with better contingency.
Another change that affects Pro's
In the challenge rounds - if you cone you score DNF. your competitor (if clean) wins. If neither driver is clean, both score DNF's and are done for the event. This was very evident at Fontana, Mary advanced when her competitor was leading but hit cones.
Enter STX for Denver, I dare you.

If you're going for the DS championship at the Pro it wouldn't make sense to run another class after you qualify. You would want to keep running DS to block your competitors from getting more points.

Actually, I was thinking of running in STX at my first pro, because I have changed the car so much recently and feel generally out of practice . . . . I don't want a bad finish (or less than great) in D Stock early in the season.
I've got a set of 215s and a rear sway bar . . . springs wouldn't take too long to change also . . .

From Pro rules 20.12;
1. An event is counted for the championship when a driver has started at least one run on each course at an event. Points are awarded on a per class, per event basis.
2. As a driver changes class entered or indexed against, the points will start over as a new entrant. If a driver returns at a later event to a previous class, the points will again accumulate as an entrant in that class until the 2006 SCCA ProSolo National Series Rules 20 maximum number of events for scoring is reached to be eligible for a yearend award.
