I'm afraid I won't be able to attend this weekends autocross. I'm
scheduled for a little bit of surgery on Thursday, won't be let out of the "big house" until Sunday (dangit!) and will have about a two week recuperation period after that. Unfortunately, the doctors don't hold out much hope that the surgery will improve my sense of humor, but it should take care of the inconvenient episodes of gastro-intestinal bleeding I've been "enjoying" the last couple of years. Eeewww, T.M.I., I know. Sorry 'bout that. I hope no one was eating while reading this . . .

ANYWAY . . .

I need someone to volunteer to do the Novice Meeting and Coursewalk this weekend.

There are I think, 5 first-never autocrossed before-timers registered for Saturday.

You don't need to be an expert driver to do the Novice Coursewalk. You just need to give the new folks an idea of how the event works, how to be safe, and what to look for on course as a driver and a worker.

You'll need to kick off the meeting around 8:30 and be done in time for the all hands meeting.

It's really easy, the newbies really appreciate it, and you just might learn a little something about the course while analyzing it for others. Please give it a try. I have specific notes on what to cover during the meeting and course walk.

E-mail me and I'll send you what you need to know . . .

Thanks in advance for your help!

- Arnie

I'm not sure about the dinner, but I'ld be happy to drop-in and visit. I need directions from WA though;) Maybe the EMTs can direct me (maybe even give me a ride-along;) )

Got a note from Arnie this morning. He says the surgery went well, and he's recovering nicely.

Seat time is good, but being alive and healthy (and no complications) is probably better :) Glad to hear it went well. Here's to wishing you a speedy recovery.
