Wow. That is pretty amazing.

I'm also suprised at how high the car gets launched up off of the curb.

You could also hear him lift, then goose the throttle again, unweighting the front end just when he should have been turning. I think perhaps he was a mite lost.

Was he OK?

Ouch!

I'll bet the driver will be feeling that one in the morning...

Hope they're okay...

Wow! That was an expensive mistake. Looking at the car looks like that wasn't an SCCA event.

Makes me really appreciate the course designers and safety chiefs we have in Colorado. Thanks to all of you!

I think this was at San Diego last weekend.

On the northeast lot at Qualcomm, there was a drifting event. When we were leaving for the airport, there was a car (exactly like that) in trees along Friar's road ( I think in the background of the video ). There were a few cop cars examining the wreck. But I'm almost positive thats the car. I also saw a car, earlier that day, that looked just like this one. Doing do-nuts in the empty lot next to our event site.

I -thought- that lot looked familiar...

And somehow they manage to get 3 drift courses onto 1 parking lot ...

That spacing between the right and bottom lots looks a little sketchy, especially for drifting.

I think it's a visual scaling thing...

The lanes are about 40' wide on their map..but you're right, it's apparently 30' from the edge of one lane to the edge of the other in the tightest spot on the right side of the course.

I can't tell if the "red line separator" is a kerb, or one of those shallow concrete drainage ditch thingies...
