I'm trying to decide if I should do the school or help as an instructor. What a quandary! :D

I can help with setup and other tasks throughout the day, but I can't commit to the full day at this time.

I'll be happy to tech the cars in the morning and stay around to do anything as needed. You've seen me drive so I'm sure you know that means anything but instructing. :)

Figure 8? Cool! Is the school being held in conjunction with the state fair this year?

I'll bring spray paint. Who's bringing the school buses? :)

If you want you can, but we ususally have the instructors all jump in and help tech cars.

And jumps. There should be jumps.

Sorry ... just one car at a time on the Figure 8!

I don't think our insurance would look favorably on this (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2549204968153121626&q=figure+8)

But think what a good exercise in looking ahead this would be!

I just don't want Tom to come out to tech 1 car.

It's no big deal for me. I figure instructors have a lot of things to do all day. Last year I remember Jack came out just to do it and had me help (I was a student at the school). If there is nothing left to do after that I can head home or whatever. I'd be happy to help.

TO ALL INSTRUCTORS/VOLUNTEERS:

If you are responsible for a feature setup, please be on site no later than 7:00 am. Once all features are setup, you can test drive features to familiarize yourself with them. Here is the schedule:

Gates Open: 6:30 am
Driver Check-in: 7:00 to 7:30 AM
Tech: 7:30 – 8:00 AM
Classroom Session: 8 to 9 AM
Driving Exercises: 9 AM to 3:00 PM

ALL instructors not setting up features will have to help tech cars WITH students, please be there NO later than 7:30am.

SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS:
Arnie Coleman (Class 1 - The very new)
Jeff Lundgren (Class 2 - Not as new)
Clay Turner (Slalom)
Michael Feldpusch (Mini Course)
Scott Abshire (Triangle)
Paul Leonard (Figure 8/Skid Pads)
Ken Hammack (Setup Assist)

Lead Instructors/Teams:

Dan Goodman (GROUP A)
-Jesse Caudill
-David Jobusch
-Eric Pollock
-Russ Johnson

Paul Leonard (GROUP B)
-Evan Leonard
-Geoff Leicester
-Jake Latham
-Jeff Lundgren
-Arnie Coleman

Clay Turner (GROUP C)
-Patrick Charles
-Grant Barclay
-Mark Baer
-Mark Mauro
-Scott Abshire

Michael Feldpusch (GROUP D)
-Mark Smyth
-Mike Minear
-Donnie Bartalone
-Dylan Maisel
-Brian Copher

Students will be assigned to one of the groups above, depending on who actually comes (and pays). These assignements will be passed out in their class sessions.

Each group of instructors will rotate with their students across all features. It is the job of the lead instructor to make sure all students are being given the right instructions and all assistance will assist the lead instructor.

Quick summary in advance:

Classroom: We're doing two different classes one is for the very new, the other are for those with more experience. All students are novices however, but this will balance and focus some of the content, though Arnie and I are using the same 'manual'.

All Features: Look ahead

Slolom: Get ahead of the slolom. The fast part is different than the slow part.

Triangle: Be consistant. Learn breaking points, break early, slow in fast out.

Figure Eight/Skid Pad: There is a limit to grip. Throttle steer, oversteer/understeer, tight is fast, get close to those cones.

Mini Course: Course walk, how to read a course. Apply the walk to the runs. Fixing mistakes in subsequent runs.

We'll talk more on site about some details.

A lot depends on if all the parked cars are gone.. so we won't know for sure till we get there. Largely Mike Feldpusch is driving this.

Jeff!!! I don't have a "B" in my last name. :)

Question: I see that the "chief" of feature doesn't stay with the feature like in the past. Is this correct? Just want to make sure.

The 'chief' of the feature just sets it up. All instructors rotate through features. If you want, you can work it out so you can stay on the skid pad, if your stomach can take it.
