RMSOLO Driver's School #1, April 15th
Denver International Airport - Mt Elbert Lot , Denver CO

Registration for the April 15th school is closed.

See http://www.rmsolo.org/forums/showthread.php?t=590 for Student List

RMSOLO Driver's School #1, DIA
The Drivers School at Mt Elbert in Denver CO will be oriented toward beginning and intermediate autocrossers. Selection will be initially limited to current SCCA members who have attended at least 1 solo event in the last year. In order to provide a quality experience to the students, only 40 entries will be accepted. If we don't have 40 entries, selection will be open to all drivers. Once you have been selected to attend, you will need to send a check to Jeff Lundgren, who is organizing the event to complete your registration. The cost for the school will be $60 for members, $85 for nonmembers, and will include lunch (NOTE: the school does not include a free solo 2 entry as we have done in years past). If you can't make the school without us filling your spot, you will receive a coupon good for any CR 2006 Summer Series event, but your school fee will not be refunded.

Schedule:

Gates Open: 6:30 am ,
Driver Check-in: 7:00 to 7:30 AM
Tech: 7:30 – 8:00 AM
Classroom Session: 8 to 9 AM
Driving Exercises: 9 AM to 3:00 PM

The school will not be cancelled unless the weather conditions are bad enough to create safety issues at the site, so please be prepared to spend the entire day outdoors in the predicted weather. If you have any questions, please email lundgren@rmsolo.org or post your question on this thread.

I will attend this solo school. Here is the information you asked for:
- Ken Wood
- I am an SCCA member
- I drove in the January and February winter series events; first as 74STU and then as 74AT
- I have participated in two solo2 events in recent years. Years ago I ran lots of autocrosses in the Northeast.

Thanks,
Ken

While a Jr Kart is running, no other cars are allowed to be running on that feature (and maybe adjacent features). This would be a serious distruption. HOWEVER, if there is interest, we can try go ask Lindsay to create a course for Jr karts in an area not close to the other features with cars. It's likely later in the day, we could get Jr Kart drivers to drive on the main course a couple of times, without major distruptions at that point.

We'd have to contact Linsay about it.

Jeff, I could really use the seat time/practice, but if you get more than 40 entries I will give my spot up to someone who hasn't previously attended. In that case I'd also be willing to help out if you can use "non-instructor" help.

The first page of this thread has pricing. If you don't register you won't get in, so yes, register. Not sure what you mean by dings, but you'll hit cones yes. If you don't you won't be driving fast enough, but shouldnt' cause damage, maybe some scuffs though, they come out.

You can join the SCCA by filling out a form on their website at scca.org, or just show up at event number 4 and fill it out there pay, and we'll mail it in for you. You don't need to register for event #4, but students who have never attended a solo 2 event will not be given first priority in the school, and we only take 40 students.

The quickest and easiest way to become a member of the SCCA is to click on the SCCA logo at the top of this page. Go to the Members section and it will walk you through submitting your application.

Registration for the April 15th school will close on March 29th. There are only 40 slots for the school (last count was 42). If registration exceeds 40 (which it already has), a lottery will be conducted to determine who is accepted. After the lottery on March 29th the results will be posted in this discussion thread.
