I know this has probably been said 100 times already, but I can't find any info at scca.org : How many prosolo events do I need to do in order to "get invited" to the finale? There's about three that I can do, in addition to the finale, looking at my schedule: Little Rock April 8th; mineral wells TX May 20, and wendover(don't know exactly when, but I have enough time to make it happen)...will this be enough?

They take the best 2 out of your first 3, then, they add that to your Finale points finish. The Finale is worth slightly more points than the regular season, so, if there is a tie for 1st place, it will be broken at the Finale more than likely. If you cannot make Wendover, maybe you could make the Denver Prosolo. :-)
Hope to see you at Walnut Ridge in STX!

And it varies depending on the size of your class, and the number of final entrants.
It's my understanding the week of the pro solo finale in KS, there will be a *small* warm up course.. taking a bit of the load off the pro solo finale.
I'm going to do Wendover, Denver, and Minneral Wells so I can make sure I get into the finale. Two of the 3 (or any 3, might be enough though).

I'm kind of hoping I don't have to do Arkansas, since it's the farthest away from the three. If three events(of course I'm doing denver :p ) will get me into the finale, I'd just as soon save the travel expenses. So basically, if I do well at three(and that's a big IF) I can slip into the finale?

What I've been wondering is: do you have to run 3? I'd love to just run Wendover, Denver and the Finale.
(never really run Pros in the DSP/FSP cars, so I never figured that out)

Yes. But the question remains: How many events do I need to enter to get into the Finale?

3 but they take your best 2 and add it to your score at the finale
its like our seson we run 12 events but they take the best 7 for season points

Cool. I'll just do three events and the finale then(I Hope). No arkansas for me. Figuring gas, fees and the unknown, this will save me a decent chunk of change. Thanks guys!

Dylan,
To help add to your confusion...
Based on what the ProSolo forum says, you need to "enter" 3 events, you don't need to participate in 3. If you do well in 2, then you need to enter the 3rd event and end up with a DNS. Then, the best 2 of 3...
See section 20.12.A in the ProSolo rules, http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/File/2006ProSoloRules.pdf

Interesting.
Last year, you only needed two events to get into the Finale.
I did Fontana and Wendover only, and got into the Finale.
Looking at the rules that Lee posted, I'm seeing these things:
On page 7 it says under 20.10, "In order for a driver to enter the Pro Solo Finale event, they must have competed in a minimum of two (2) ProSolo National Series events for that year in the class entered for the Finale event and meet any additional requirements for ProSolo."
On page 19 under 20.12 it talks about season points. Saying best 2 of first 3 events and Finale to be considered for year end prize money and/or trophies.
So it looks to me that you just need two events to be eligable to run the Finale. Looks like Denver and Mineral Wells or Wendover!

I do know that you are invited to the finale, by snail mail. You get a letter from Tasha stating you have qualified for the finale. Attending the Finale is a great addition to Solo week in Topeka. This is in addition to all the non-racing fun events.. like bowling and Car bombs...right Jobusch? :)
For informational purposes, the Pro's I'll be attending are:
Fontana (next weekend)
DC
Packwood, WA
Denver
Wendover

Mmmmmm.... Car Bombs....
For those of you wanting to do the finale, seriously consider adding Wendover for your second event. CR and CDR is well represented there, and it is usually a big party!
