View Full Version : Index? whats it mean
Ok so I did really good for my first event, and on street tires too. Now after looking at the scores I dont understand the "index" scoring. I got 140th place and the index time shows 47.848 but fastest time I got was 57.5 so now I'm lost on how the scoring works. Anyone help me out.

Event Points
The fastest single run for each competitor will determine the finishing position. The points awarded for each event will be based on the following formula:1000 * (fastest indexed time) / (your indexed time)For 2006, the RMSS is using the PAX/RTP index. (http://www.scca-chicago.com/solo/indexes/rtp2006.html) Ladies classes will use the same index as open classes. A list of official indexes for all classes will be available at the events or by mail if necessary.
This is how the summer series points are calculated. There is an index, see link above, for each class so theoretically all classes can be compared against each other on the same course. It allows for instance, an HS Mini to be compared to a SS Z06, whomever has the lowest indexed time, drove the best, again theoretically.
