$36K for a salvage titled Z06 Vette with the top cut off? With three blurry pictures, and NO INFORMATION on who did the conversion, and how? And who knows what the reserve is.
I don't think so. But maybe someone out there will think it's all that & a bag of chips.

I just read an article about the massive number of post-Katrina flooded cars hitting the market. I haven't looked at this Vette to compare, so it could be a coincidence; however, there's a lot of money to be made, buying flooded cars for pennies and spending $5k to make them look good.
There is an online flood registry of VIN numbers at www.nicb.org. However, not all cars made the list before disappearing. Let the buyer beware.

I just did a quick VIN search of the NICB web site, but it wasn't listed, as far as I can tell.

Asked of seller:
"Are any pictures available from the wreck showing the side damage, and/or mid-conversion, showing the restoration?"

That's a good point Clay, but I was only thinking that one-off customized cars with SALVAGE TITLES don't typically sell on Ebay for more than their standard bluebook value.

For slightly more than the reserve on that auction, one can buy a Z06 in good condition *and* pay a company like Caravaggio to do a professional conversion to convertible.

Reply from seller:
Sorry, I didnt see the car until the convertible top was installed. We replaced the rear quarter panels as the convertible panels are different than the hard top panels. I wish I had pictues but don't. You are welcome to drive the vehicle, it drives as new. Thanks for the inquiry, Dave
