John,
I see you registered in OSP with a 91 Miata.
Open Street Prepared
OSP vehicles must use DOT approved tires and be "street legal." RMSS will make no effort to verify legality in terms of Colorado laws; however, an OSP car must be something that could conceivably be registered and driven on public roads. For example, it must have a windshield (if originally equipped with one), DOT legal headlights, taillights, windshield wipers (where applicable) and a reasonable exhaust. This class encourages maximum creativity for cars that do not fit in the SCCA's other categories. OSP is indexed at 0.872.
What about your car keeps you out of SM2? 0.867 is a lot nicer index. If it's a spec miata, you should be legal for DSP (someone keep me honest here if I am wrong) at 0.843
Your overall points will be better the lower index you can run, besides, I like to see SM2 grow:)
