View Full Version : Photographers at Nationals wanted (and needed!)

I've been dissapointed with Digital Race Photography's performance at Nationals the past few years, so I asked HQ if they would consider other photographers.

They said that any photographer who pays the vendor fee can be a photographer at Nats, and suggested that I pass the word if I would like someone else there.

So, if you know anyone who would be interested in doing photography of the 1200 Solo competitors at Nationals, let them know that we need them!

If they can get their pictures posted before 2 months has passed, and if their web site is organized such that it doesn't take an hour or so to find your car, then they'll be leaps and bounds ahead of DRP!

PS: I just checked their site, which is "newly redesigned" ... it looks worse than before, and they only have pictures of the first heat from the first day posted. Looks like easy pickens for someone with a camera!

Out of curiosity, how much are vendor fees?

I think Cliff should go.

The DRP website was truly miserable before--I can't imagine it being changed to be slower/harder to use. :(

DRP doesn't seem very 'tech' savey so to speak. I think they have great technology for taking pictures, but presenting them online could use some work. I think cliff, with the right help, can probably get something really kool setup online for national's photo's. I know he has a year worth of webspace ;)

By the time nationals come around i'll be there. I've already got all the web space needed and I was going to sort the cars as followed..

By day
By heat
and then car number

How much are the vendor fees anyways?

I'm sure contacting SCCA would be a good start. I'm sure Tasha could at least point you in the correct direction. tgoodale@scca.com

My advice, contact them now and set something up. Planning ahead will never hurt.
