Sorry I missed the 1:00 PM target for this announcement, but the decision to go ahead with this weekend's events was not an easy one. Yes, it's going to be cold and wet in the morning, but conditions (and temps) are forcasted to improve a bit as the day goes on. A wet course for a school is actually a bonus. (More "effect" - less wear and tear on tires!)
In making the decision, safety was foremost in our minds, followed closely by comfort, and thirdly, the dissapointment cancelling would bring to our customers (all you guys and gals!)
It's going to be cold in the morning, no doubt, but you students will be indoors with me for part of the morning, while the instructors will be setting up the exercises (seems like a good idea to hug an instructor when you see one!)
Lots of folks are going way above and beyond to put on a great weekend of instruction and competition for you. Please don't dissapoint them just 'cause you don't feel like putting on an extra sweater in the morning.
Dress warmly, you'll be fine!!!
If the forcast for tomorrow nite and Sunday changes dramatically for the worst over the day tomorrow, we may need to re-evaluate Sunday's event. In any case we'll let you know what's going on (or not!) as soon as we can.
See you in the morning!

I can only speak for myself, but there is no chance of that! I've been looking forward to this for a long time! Between cancelations, dental work, a blown engine and that danged broken wrist I haven't had any seat time in months!
Big thanks to you Arnie and everyone else who makes this happen! I'll see you in the Morning!
Take care,
Ed
P.S. (and I'll apologize for this in advance) Boogity Boogity Boogity- Let's go racin' boys!

Thank you guys so much for keeping this going! I've been waiting for this weekend sice I found the website in Feb. I'll be there bright an early with my fluffy coat and waterproof bag (trash bag)!
Yay Ultra High Performance Dry/Wet Tires!
Once again thanks to all who are involved!

Glad to hear that school is on! I've been scrambling to get new wheels, tires, & alignment before the weekend. All are done (whew!). Wasn't able to get a helmet though. Any chance there will some loaner helmets available?

I'm about to get in the car and drive ~400 miles up from Albuquerque for the event tomorrow. Is there a chance it will be canceled today or will that call be made tomorrow morning?

i think the key players are on-site for the school today . . .
The chance of precip has gone up to 50% for tomorrow, but I think the event will happen (not official at all), so bring warm, dry clothes.
You are driving on sensible tires for the trip to/fro, right? :D

No. I'm on full-ish tread 615s -- better than the yokohamas, but not good if it snows. I don't even keep all seasons for the evo anymore because I don't drive it in winter.

. . . to everyone who helped out at the school today! You guys thoroughly trounced the learning curve for the students!!! I received a number of complimentary comments throughout the day for specific instructors and the school in general.
A special thanks to Stephen Kohn, and Ken Hammack who always ask the open-ended question, "What can I do to help", and always say, "Okay" when I tell them.
Way to go (again!) You guys ROCK (AGAIN!!!)

A great big thank you to everyone who made todays school event happen today. I had no idea that my little car could go so fast around a corner. Or that I could have so much fun driving it. I took my first steps toward learning how to actually drive my little red Miata. And although I have a huge way yet to go, I was driving a lot faster and a lot better at 4pm than I was at 10am!
Thanks you Arnie, Matt, Randy, and to all the rest of the instructors who helped me find a line and go faster.

Arnie, huge thanks to you and everyone who made this happen today. I had a fantastic time, got tons of seat time and got great feedback from the instructors (yes, I know, I'm late on the slalom! I'm working on it! lol).
I came home with a smile on my face so huge my wife is going to start wondering what exactly I'm really doing on the weekends! Actually, I'm going to try to get her to the school later this year.
Thank you everyone! It was great!
Take care,
Ed

Thanks to all of you who made this school happen. I'm happy to say I've been there and done that, but I very much appreciate the efforts of all who volunteered their Saturdays. It was a long, often cold and windy day. There by 7 and probably until after 5. It's hard work with no pay, yet I know it's gratifying.
Thanks!!!!

It's been said, but it doesn't hurt to say it again.
THANK YOU! for pulling off a successful school. I dare say that was not a mini-course, but a full size one :D. And I think we got almost as much seat time at any one exercise as we would get at a regular (3 run) event :D. Thank you for all the comments, tips, hints and pointing in the right direction. Each instructor had something useful to add. Now I just have to keep on top of all the things I learned and not forget them.
