Because of the weather forecast we have changed the date of the Sunday, March 2nd event to Saturday, March 1st. All of the times will be the same as they were on Sunday. There appears to be an even chance that we would have to cancel the event if it was held on Sunday. Given the great weather on Saturday there is no chance of cancellation so we had to move the event. I am very sorry if this causes any inconvenience or causes you to withdraw from the event.

If you cannot make the Saturday event, PLEASE, log back into registration and cancel your registration for the event. This will help us make run order changes and make the event run much smoother with far fewer delays.

If you or you know someone who now wants to register for the event because it is on Saturday, we will open on-line registration again soon until noon on Friday. If you miss the on-line registration we try to take walk up registrations on a first come, first served basis starting at 7:30 am at the event site. Be patient, if we can fit you in we will, but there are no promises. Please do not e-mail myself or any of the Chiefs following the close of registration, asking to included in registration. All of us are very busy getting ready for the event and may not be able to get back with you in a timely basis. Be there at the lot and we will do everything we can to get you in.

Argh! :(
Bummer, I was excited to run so close to home and also to have my buddy co-drive with me. I've been trying to get him involved ever since I started. Saturday won't work for me. Oh well, will have to wait til the next time... Thanks for trying to keep the event on though! I bet it's gotta be a nightmare trying to schedule around the weather this winter. Have fun, miss me! :p

I’m betting I’m not the only one who got up this morning to find he’d missed today’s event. Hope you all had fun. I’m a pretty easy going, mellow guy, but have to admit I was a little peeved. It’s been a long, cold winter, and like the rest of you I was looking forward to the event.

Edit: I was on the web page yesterday, but apparently I missed it so I stand corrected. I'm glad to know it was there though before the email went out last night, and certainly understand given the forecast. Darnit, such a beautiful day, would have loved to have been there. Ah well, got the Koni's on the Vette which turned out to be a roughly 5 hour bear of a job on jack stands.

How’s the lot and surface out there?

It’s been a long, cold winter, and like the rest of you I was looking forward to the event. I was on the web page yesterday and don’t recall seeing even a hint the event would be moved to Saturday. Granted this is only my 4th year in SCCA, but I don’t recall us ever doing this. It would have been nice to know the possibility was in the works before an email at 8pm on Friday night. Am I the only one doing something on Friday night other than checking my email or the web page? I would have checked tonight to see if there was a cancellation due to weather, but again I had no idea this was in the works.

Rant over.

That sucks man. I know I'm jonzing to get out there too.

But this announcement was up all day yesterday. I wasn't registered for this event (stupid cast on my arm) but in the past when there have been changes or cancelations we got an e mail. Did that not happen this time?

Take care,

Ed

Ditto...
I didn't get an e-mail either. Maybe it was to late? I remember getting one last summer when we had to cancel the first JeffCo Stadium event.

Well, given the weather situation and all the events that were called off for snow, I think they did the right thing moving it. They're always really good about the e mails. Something must have happened this time. As I understand it, those jobs don't pay particularly well and some of the folks running this thing have to hold second jobs to cover their life expenses. lol Maybe someone was busy.

Only people who were registered for the event got the email about the move. If you were registered and didn't receive an email address, please double check your email address setting in MyRMSolo (the "Registration" link on the sidebar), or make sure that email from anyone @rmsolo.org is making past your spam filter.

It was great Gordon! Early runs were a little slick and I'm sure it will get down right greasy this summer when it gets hot. I can't believe I actually noticed how smooth it was when I was driving. Of course a great, challenging course was provided by Michael Feldpusch.

I am concerned with people who didn't receive e-mails or got them late. Anyone who didn't get them, check Kevin's e-mail. Verify your e-mail and if you should have gotten it post back here and we will try to check it out. "This is a test of the emergency broadcast system..." I know that my work e-mail delays my e-mails from RMSolo until 10:00 pm and there are other work related devices out there that keep us from getting "serious" stuff done. So if it goes to a work address that could be a problem. I imagine that if you had a problem with the change e-mail there should be a problem with receiving the confirmation e-mail when you register for the event too so you may want to check it out also.

Tom,
Was the change notice sent to everyone on the announcement mailing list or was just sent to those who were registered for the event?

I received the monthy verification e-mail yesterday, so I know I'm in there and the address is correct.

From Kevin's post earlier.
