I was looking at the schedule for 2008 (cool to see HPR on it), and was wondering are the Sat and Sun events two separate events, or one two day event?

Thanks

I believe sat/sun events are two separate events at same venue, meaning you pay your way separately for each day. And you are welcome to join for either day or both.

This is from the Registration page of the TT site...

Entry fee, per day:
SCCA Member: $99
Non SCCA: $135
PDX: $75
Club Race Corner Worker PDX: FREE!

I don't know if these are '07 or '08 prices.

I believe that you'll be able to enter for either day or both.

I believe that pricing is changing this year, but don't have the numbers handy; not sure if they've been finalized either.

Grant should have pricing to share soon.

Thanks Grant.

Is the attendance for either day of a weekend about the same, or do more folks show up for one of the days vs. the other?

Is the PDX held on both days?

Could we come down and work a corner one weekend and then take the "free" PDX on a different weekend? (If I remember, you talked about this at the Convention, aye?).

I work weekends, so Sundays only would work best for me. Then I get to sleep in on Monday. :D

It's about the same, we had slightly better attendance on Saturdays in 2007.

Is the PDX held on both days?
For now most events will have a PDX both days, we may amend that for the first two weekends at La Junta, final decision will be made next week. We are introducing a revised PDX school for 2008, and are hoping to model it on the actual road race school. The two weekends at La Junta MAY require that you attend the school on Friday night if you intend taking part in the PDX.

Absolutely. As long as you use your PDX credit in the same calendar year, you are free to use it at any event. The only restriction on this may be at the event at HPR, but we do not have those details available yet (and wont for a few months yet).

[COLOR="royalblue"]that's why we try to spread the vents evenly between Sat and Sun. I know some of our drivers have church commitments Sundays.
See you at the track

Thanks again Grant.

A few more questions came to mind as I was chopping ice off the driveway...

If I were to take the PDX in my street car, could I then "compete" in my SM car at a later event? (If this *#@&^! ice doesn't melt by 3/8/2008, I won't be able to get my SM car out of my sudivision!)

Is it possible to take the PDX twice?

If we worked a corner at two different events would we still get the 2nd PDX free?

Now I get to go do my new brakes. Hi-Ho Hi-Ho!!! :D

No problem

PDX in your street car is a great idea. For a driver who is on the track the first few times, there is a lot to learn, and a street car makes an easy learning enviroment. You are also likely to approach the limits a lot sooner, and at a slower speed. Kinda like recommending a novice autocrosser to stick with street tires for the first season and work on the "nut behind the wheel"

Is it possible to take the PDX twice?

Absolutely, you can take the PDX at every single event if you want the seat time. As often as your wallet allows, or don't forget the offer of a free PDX for every day you work a corner.

If we worked a corner at two different events would we still get the 2nd PDX free?

Yup, for every event you work, you get a free PDX. You can easily run the PDX in the morning, and then work a corner (or other specialty of your choosing) for the rest of the day, get free drinks, free lunch, great racing entertainment from the best "seats" at the track, and then end the day with a free meal and beer while bench racing with all your fellow SCCA members. Whoo Hoo.

Now I get to go do my new brakes. Hi-Ho Hi-Ho!!! :D

See you at the track,

Grant Barclay

Good questions about the PDX -- yes, please do take us up on our offer for a free PDX in exchange for volunteering to work the rest of the day!

Dan and I, working with Grant, Josh, and Dave, have some exciting plans for our instruction at TT/PDX this year, and it will extend throughout the day.

I think you'll like it.

Thanks again Grant (and David),
I'll plan on coming the first two TT's in LaJunta in my street car and take the PDX both times on Sunday of the weekends. For the remainder I'll tow my SM car out and see how she does.

Remember SM=Rollcage.

I know. I've already discussed my car with Grant, Josh & David Walker.
David looked at my car at a SOLO event last year and said it shouldn't be a problem to get classed as OSP for TT.
My car is essentially an Integra Type-R under the skin with some additional suspension mods. Nothing like the Faucetts "Monster".
