I'm looking to buy an open trailer to tow my Sunbeam Tiger around. The car is only about 13' long (about the same size as a Miata). Hoping to find something local.
Thanks,
Bob

I just got off the phone with Evelyn up in Denver. Mine was to be costume for $2220, you might be able to go down from there. Her number is 3036226228 She is an H&H dealer. I was looking at the TL16 duel tandum axles 3500lb each, brakes on each with 6' ramps, my car is really low. It was open pit.

I will also try to find the number for the place that I got my trailer. They're down off Santa Fe just north of Belleview.

Not sure how local Cheyenne is to you, but yesterday I looked at a 14' car hauler, dual axles, brakes on one, wood floor, std ramps and I think it was around $1,700. I thought this was a little pricey, but I've just started looking. Said it was rated to 7,000# - about 1,800# for tailer = 5,200 # payload. Assuming my numbers are right.

I'm thinking 14' is too small for my car which is 14', + extra wheels..., but I'm not to excited about going much bigger and hauling more trailer.

You may also want to consider a utility trailer in the 16' variety. I personally went this route and have used the trailer quite a few times to haul all kinds of stuff that would have been more difficult with a open pit car hauler or a standard one without the side rials. It also has the dual axle ~7000# capacity, a set of ramps, a wood deck and brakes on one axle. I admit it is harder to load the car without the sloped rear end and with the side rails (removable) but in the end I am glad I went the route I did. When I was looking it was also a few hundred cheaper. I purchased mine in Kansas about 4 years ago and it ran me about $1600 at the time.

Thanks for all the responses. Looks like 1700 to 2200 is the likely price range for what I'm looking for. Lots of choices on where to go.
