I've been emailing the father of a driver who wants to do the PDX and Time Trials events.

The drivers name is Shyla, she just turned 18 and has been driving 1/4 midgets since she was 8. This season she drove a Mini Sprint car.
Think World of Outlaws powered by a 600cc motorcycle engine. :D
She has track records at several circle tracks.

They have a Honda Civic Si with an engine swap.
Is there a TT class for the car, SM?

I've advised them to get her registered for PDX and TT.
Told 'em to read the TT pages and suggested they join this forum.

Thanks,

Lindsay

there is an SM class for TT, but a roll cage is required for that class.

If there's no roll cage, i think she can run in OSP.

If it's simply a swap with a slightly stouter power plant, and nothing exotic like a high boost supercharger or anything, OSP should be a good class for the car.

In OSP, there's no requirement for a roll bar/cage (of course, it's always a good idea), but she'll still need all of the rest of the gear. Which, as a 1/4 midget racer, I would expect she'd have. Keep in mind that either window nets or arm restraints are required in all cars.

Can't wait to see more fresh faces at the event! I hope they come on down!

Be sure to be bring weather gear for this weekend, and be prepared for a wide variety of temps. Looks like it could be an interesting weekend.
