Can anyone suggest an arm restraint system for standard 3 point belts? Everything I can find so far is designed for 5 point harnesses.
Thanks,

While it's not ideal, there's at least one way to make a conventional arm restraint work...

Connect the two arm restraints together. Then you thread the 3-point through the two connected straps, under the left arm restraint strap, and over the right arm strap. This way, the lap belt portion of the 3-point is holding down the arm restraints. You want to loop the strap and the 3-point belt so that when it is released, it retracts clear of the arm restraints. The purpose of the restraint is to keep your limbs inside the car, and looping it through the 3-point belt can be an effective method.

Just gotta spend a little time getting the length adjusted right...

No, it's not ideal. Really we'd rather have everyone with 5 or more point harnesses. But the nature of the Club Trails program is to get people in their daily drivers out there, and that usually means OEM 3-point belts. A window net is more invasive, and requires cutting and/or drilling. And arm restraints used in this manner will provide better protection than no restraints at all.

In the past, the argument was to keep the driver's window -up- to keep arms inside the car. But we decided that mandating either arm restraints or window nets was safer than relying on a plane of side glass in the unlikely event of an "off". And a decent set of arm restraints can be had for not a lot of money.

Arm restraints and/or window nets are required in our regional supps, but are only recommended (not required) in the National TTR.

This is what I do with my 3 point belts. Connecting the restraints together with a carabiner makes it quick & easy to get into & out of.
