Can someone give me an idea of where I can buy racing shoes in the Denver area? I have tons of places on-line, but I would rather be able to try them on to ensure a proper fit.
BTW-This forum site is great!

I've been pretty happy with wrestling shoes. Not good for standing around in all day, but really nice for driving. And -way- cheaper than piloti or simpsons...
Granted, they're not nomex, so they're good for autox, but probably not legal for Road Racing...

Take a look at the Puma racing shoes either online, or in person at the Puma outlet in the Colorado Mills mall. I bought of the Speed Cat hightops that were great to drive in, but quite uncomfortable to spend the day in.
I ended up with a pair of Piloti's from Detailer's Paradise in Denver. They have a nice inventory of styles and sizes, and a BMWCCA discount.

Vans makes some nice leather shoes that work well as race shoes and only $35! :)

If you look on Piloti's website, they have a Local dealer page and there are a few dealers in Denver that carry them. The shoes are worth the price, Ive had one pair of mine, the Spyder SV's and they only look dirty and have the molded fold makrs right above the toe, but no tears or anything.
I just got a pair of Monaco's to eventually replace my SPyders and they seem promising as well.
I forgot to mention that these are my 'daily driver' shoes. SO they see alot of miles

If you want to spend the big dollars for real Sparco or Simpson racing shoes, Bill Morten's Motorsports Supply sells them. They are at 7200 E 54th place, Commerce City. (near the old Stapleton post office). They have pretty good prices, that's where I bought my Simpson SA helmet.

I called DP and they said that they can't discount Piloti's according to their marketing agreement, but they are giving a $15.00 giftcard this month for BMWCCA member until 3/11. About how much do the Pumas run?

I think I spent around $50 for the high tops at the outlet.
Same here. They have perty good choices at the Puma Store in Colorado Mills Mall. They even have some styles for dirt cheap....if you don't mind color schemes like orange/purple, yellow/blue, brown/green, etc. ;)

They don't require nomex for road racing, just "uppers of leather and/or nonflammable material that at a minimum cover the instep." Turns out that my Nike wrestling shoes pass road racing tech just fine!

Checked out the outlet store and they had three pairs, sizes 3,4,and 5.
Dang, that sucks. Maybe they're not big movers at that store.
According to the website, Puma has a store at:
3000 East First Avenue
Space 1102
Denver, CO 80206
303-377-8999
Is that Cherry Creek Malls address? Anyways, I'd say a phone call first to see what is available at that store is advisable.
I have also seen various models of motorsports Puma's at some of those "hip" shoe stores in different malls. I'm pretty sure I saw some at Journey's before.... http://www.coloradomills.com/static/doc_003579.jsp
Check here to find various styles you like and give those shops a call...

Hope that helps.

Hey that's great, I appreciate the help. The Colorado Mills store is an outlet so they only have older styles.
There are a lot of good choices on that site.
