I know about RC and Witchhunter, but is there anyone local I take four injectors to to get them lightly cleaned and new hoses installed?
This isn't for anything cool, I'm just doing the westy's lines.. need new hoses and check to see if they stilll kinda spray.

Most vana-gone guys just cut the hose at the swaged in part, dig out the hose remnant, then clamp on a hose stub, use f.i. rated fuel line and use a f.i. clamp, not a common worm clamp. To check the spray, just point them into a mason jar and take a look(ground the coil so it doesn't fire when you crank the engine) compare the pics in the Bentleys. If you have a cone shape thats somewhat atomized you're making the full 50 horsepower your 1.9l waterboxer is capable of at 5280 feet:D Note the wiring, all the injectors fire at the same time....
Replace all the fuel lines in the engine bay with F.I. rated hose. Take the time to go to VW or a good foreign car FLAPS (Friendly Local Auto Parts Supplier) and get the metric hose, it fits better than the the 1/4 inch stuff, you can reuse your anti abrasion slip on hose covers with metric hose.
The injector rebuilders are funny about messing with Vanagon style injectors with the swaged on rubber hose.

My first intuition was to do that, but usually my firsts "good idea" and "safe" don't go together. Since I'm trying to prevent a barbeque I figured it would be best to do as instructed by samba.
So, the stub should have enough grip?
In truth, I may go for some new injectors. The entire engine compartment is pretty rusty, injectors included. I question whether an injection shop would touch them on looks alone. They're pretty rusty, and the plastic is starting to disentigrate.
I see refurbs at busdepot for 50$ a piece. .even if it's bus depot, it's probably worth it.
