Chris, the last winter event at Coors Field was sound controlled/limited, but I cannot speak for Jeffco. That corner lot does have a housing community right behind it.

Thanks to Clay, Tom, and both regions' Chiefs for putting together a very full season, and keeping conflicts with other events to a minimum. All this in a year when everyone was scrambling is a testament to what great volunteers that we have.

Well done!

I'm wondering the same thing. April 15th is just 3 weeks away.

April 15 is now booked for the World Arena, not the Pikes Peak Community College.

Thanks.

The April 28th date shows AX School. Is that Autocross school? Do we register for it like any other event?

Would it be possible to get this schedule in sync with the schedule page? There are two dates on the schedule page for Coors field that don't show up on this thread, and there are two more dates for Coors Field that show Sunday events on the schedule page but as Saturday events on this thread. I'm trying to update my calendar and I don't know which one to believe. :p

The registration link for the school is on the "home" page of this website. Click the big wire wheel in the upper left corner of this page.

Believe the posted schedule page not this thread. (you also need to believe the Rockies won't be playing in the post-season)

Tom, this post-season, the Rockies will be playing.........golf.

Seriously though, I am rooting for them.

Any idea, though, on if/when the tentative events are confirmed/unconfirmed?

For the COR (Denver events) the only tentative event is the July 15th. We are second in line for Coors that day and won't know until I hear from the parking lot folks. My guess is I'll hear in June.

There is another correction to the thread: The Street Survival is at Jeffco Stadium on Saturday, October 20th. The following day, Sunday, October 21 is the final SSS (Summer Solo Series) event and it is at Coors Field.

So there will be no event on April 29?

Has a decision been made for which two day event would be the divisional? Labor Day or Memorial Day? Of even if one of them will be a divisional?

There is an event on the 29th. They announced at the event the 15th that if you get into the driving class on the 28th, the fee covers your entry fee for the event on Sunday, the 29th. It should get put up on the "Schedule" web page very soon.

Just checked and both the class and the event are posted and we can register!!!

Wanted to bring up a suggestion regarding scheduling for our SCCA Solo 2 events.

I first want to preface this suggestion by saying thanks very, very, very much for all the hard work put into this very challenging year due to venue scarcity, etc. All involved are to be commended.

Anyway, the suggestion is this: Could we have a more balanced schedule between Sunday and Saturday races for 2008? As it stands now in 2007 we have 4 Saturdays and 1 Monday vs. 9 Sunday races.

For someone like myself, who is unavailable Sundays, has no chance to qualify for a year end championship. On the flip side, I am sure there are others who would be faced with that issue if there were 9 Saturday events and not enough Sunday events to qualify. That's why a reasonable balance between the two days is best.

I am almost positive this is a result of the difficult venue scheduling this year because in years past we have had enough Saturdays to balance out the Sundays (or visa versa) and at least qualify for year end points (I won the SM2 championship in 2006 and was only present on Saturdays, for example).

Anyway, thought I would just throw this out as "food for thought" for next year just in case we were taking new direction this year.

Thanks again for all that's done in behalf of all of us SCCA members!

Kelly,

Noted. You are right, if we could get a date this year we grabbed it. I (or whoever will be doing this) will try to get more Saturdays next year.

I agree with Kelly. I appreciate all the hard work finding venues for us to race at but wish there was a better balance between Saturday and Sunday events.
Thanks for getting a full schedule together even though I won't be able to attend much of it.
