First off, great race today!!! On my last run, Craig Reece wanted to ride with me. Normally I don't take anyone out on a last run, but he drove half the course and broke the wheel off his car, so why not huh? Anyway, I ran a very clean 57.879.
How much faster do you guys think I could have gone without 200 pounds of stratus breaking Craig in the car? ('96 CSP Miata)

In my stock Miata, I usually feel that a passenger costs me 1/4 to 1/2 second. Of course my lack of driving skill costs me 4 seconds  so I never mind taking a passenger.

A passenger might cost a few tenths due to weight, but add or subtract 1-2 seconds due to the driver showing off. :D

Yup. second run i convinced my buddy (who was slightly hang over from last nite :p ) to ride with me and boy did i have my hands full after the first slalom; i have gone into a slide which i've recovered, but it cost me 2 seconds. after that i got cone happy :D

I suppose that depends on how balanced your car is. Extra weight in the right place might actually help.

My sentiments exactly. Everytime I don't take a passenger in my car to try and lose some weight on my last run, I end up screwing up the run anyways. I think I've just gotten used to the extra weight next to me. Hell, my fastest run on Sunday was also with my heaviest passenger.

With our STS2 Miata, a passenger tends to add roughly a half-second on a 30 second course... Emphasis on roughly.
We'll give you a full second off since the course was about 60 seconds for most cars. Your Official Bench Racing Time, corrected for passenger, is 56.879. Nice work. :)

Thanks Aaron! Your method seems to be pretty accurate for the sake of bench racing. Hey, do you think you can tell me your super secret suspention set-up, alingment, ride hight, and shock settings? We talked last year at the first event of the season, and I since then forgot. Your times are just a tad faster than mine so that should mean I need your suspention with my CSP tires. Thanks!!
email is cooler btw

Would it make sense that a passenger could add more time to a low horsepower car vs the same rider in a higher horsepower car? I took riders on all four runs too.
