Hi all -
Curious to see who out there has a kart of any description?
Jeff and I head out to IMI with the DSR's from time to time, and it's always a fun social gathering to get together with other Soloheads who have Karts.
Al, Mark B, Bones, Dale, others?

Hey Jack, I go from time to time and Grant, who bought one also, generally meets me there. We should try to post it here when we decide to go and make speed outings out of them. I am always happy to let my fellow racers try the kart, as it's a lot of fun and can be helpful to learn new skills.
So, let me know when you migh plan on going andI will try to be there!

For those of us who have been at this a while you may remember when Jon Goodale used to come out with his kart. I've heard rumours that he may start karting again since there's nowhere local he can race his car.

IMI - today at noon. This will be outing #6 for us in 2006. It sure seems easier to get seat time in a kart.
A little more tuning and I'll be as fast (or faster) than Al.
post up when you guys head out.

I have a shifter kart!
Yellow, like my car, but significantly faster.
I've been out twice, and had the pleasure of running with Grant, Carol, and Al one day.
My kart seat is too big and my ribs still ache from two Saturdays ago. It's a blast! There is a big, fun, learning curve.
(I'm a definite karting newbie geek, so anyone with questions is welcome to contact me - I'm happy to help.)
cheers,
Geremy

I should be a salesman for ribtect seats! I've had one on my kart since I bought it and I never even have bruises after getting off the track. You'd be surprised how a good fitting ribtect seat will improve your driving comfort. If you don't get one, be sure to wear a rib vest to prevent injuries.

Do you guys ever go up on weekends? It's been a while since I've driven a kart(single gear-never driven a shifter), but I'd love to get a little seat time and do some bench racing with you guys. I'll even buy a little gas and/or dinner for the adventurous soul that lets me try theirs ;)

I'll vouch for the RibTech seat! It doesn't fit me as well as it fits Dale, but I get much less bruised driving Dale's kart than I did driving other karts.
Of course, I'm not sure anything would've worked on the North Course in Topeka, but I think the RibTech seat would've helped.

There's a Kart Chassis Seminar this Saturday, January 28, in Arvada.
Here's info provided by the kart company hosting the seminar:
www.shockwavekarting.com
"10:00AM -12:00 PM Chassis seminar. While geared primarly for new and intermediate racers, racers of all levels can always learn more.
12:00PM to 2:00PM Live machine demonstrations. Ever wonder what a CNC machine looks like? Ever want to watch one run? This is your chance.
2:00PM-4:00PM Bench racing. This is your chance to talk with your friends about the coming season. Its never to early to get the trash talking going, all in good fun of course.
4435 West 58th Avenue, Unit E in Arvada. Call for directions 303-781-7829 "
------------
This is hosted by Doug Welch and his company, Shockwave Karting. They make a number of parts and accessories for kart racers.
I have no affiliation with Shockwave. There seem to be enough karters here that it's worth posting.

Well, since I'm guessing that everybody's subscribed to this thread, I guess this'll be a good way to alert folks about IMI trips from here on out :-)
Still looking at late Feb/early March for the Radical to be back on its feet, so if you guys do go out, let me know - I'm going nuts!

I know this isn't the classifieds forum, but I thought some of you karters might be more "in the know" about anyone who's looking for a kart. I'm selling a 2001 CRG Maximo w/ Rotax 125 motor. If you know of anyone who is interested, please have them email me. I'm looking to get it off my hands quickly, so I'm offering a really good deal.

Jason,
please email me at GBarclay "at" aol.com and give me an idea how much you want.
A neighbor has been coming karting with me and is hooked. I think he'd jump into a kart if priced right. Kart running? any maintenance? Is that a FR125? does it have a passport? what size seat?
Anybody up for Sunday afternoon or Monday - Al?
