I looked around for a few minutes last night and found nothing on this car. Does anyone have any idea where it would be placed as a stock car? It is a 200hp turbo charged motor, FWD, and it basically equivalent to the new ('06) Jetta GLI as far as suspenion goes.

It looks like it would fit into the G Stock class.

Good lord... I would not want to run against that car in G-Stock!! Those things handle like a CHAMP!!

Bring it on. :)

The Audi may have 30hp on the Mini but it is a bit larger, and a lot heavier.

It can join the Civic Si amongst the also-rans this year.

Now it doesn't state in the rule book exactly where that car fits, so I am just guessing a FWD + 200hp turbo charged would be a GS fit, but I'm not so sure. Anyone else know where this car would be classed?

I'd have to agree with eric. On paper it's very similar to the '06 honda civic si(the audi may have AWD, but the Civic has an lsd stock-like the newer cooper s') which was put in GS as part of the SCCA's plan to diversify that class this year. I agree with Grant, though, I don't see the mini's dominance in GS waning any time soon.

It -may- find it's way into GS, but as far as the currently printed 2006 rules go, it's not classed, and as such would be placed into Super Stock.

And I wouldn't sweat it if it were placed in GS, it weighs more than a ton and a half! If it's the 2.0T, I'd put the thing into HS really... Open diff, FWD, and 3300#? Yeah, that's a potent autox weapon...

Now, the V6 quattro model, that might do some good, but that tips the scales at 3600#. Yoiks! What ever happened to nice, light weight, fun little cars?

Oh yeah, Jeff went and bought one! :D
