I have an acquaintance who owns a 1983 380 SEC Mercedes Coupe that needs some upholstery work. There is a hole on the driver front seat need a new piece of leather along with the center arm rest. The headliner also needs to be replaced.

He's also interested in replacing the 380 motor with "something else."

Anyone have a lead on a quality upolstery shop in the Springs and info on what replacement motors will fit (doesn't have to be Mercedes) anda source?

Thanks!

For the upholstery I would check with Timberline Upholstery. 3204 N. Stone. North of Fillmore before the dog track. 630-1538. As for the engine a gas axe and a welder will make just about anything fit in it. :D

Thanks, Curtis. I assume he's looking for a "drop-in" though . . .

I would suggest that he subscribe to the Mercedes discussion list at:

One of the guys in charge of the list, Stu Ritter, is a Colorado local, and I'm sure that he could find good motor swap information on it.
